Right on target! The bones landed in a heap just before the girl, who then screamed at the sight before bursting into tears, quietly protesting against the bones' antics. Had she more empathy, Shiv would have ceased her escapade and flew down to help the poor girl. However, the response she was drawing from the wolf was just too amusing — her frightened wails were like music to her ears! Humming softly with glee, the magpie continued to peer down at the girl, watching as she huddled into a tight ball of dark fur. The bones lay in front of her menacingly.

Gliding down from her perch, Shiv landed a short distance away from the wolf so as not to disturb her, before quietly strutting forward, beginning to hop sideways as she neared the girl. Slowly, she bounced closer and closer to the stranger's rear end, suddenly leaning forward and giving her a sharp jab with her beak. With an almost deranged cackle, the bird then scuttled back into the bushes, hoping she hadn't been spotted.
