Though it didn't look appetizing anymore, it was still good to eat, so Peregrine took advantage and seized a large bite.

"That's great -- congrats, father-to-be!" As for taking some of the credit for their success, the second-in-command couldn't help but laugh. He had made sure to provide food for the pair when they were otherwise busy, but there was something else he had done, as well. "And you're welcome for hosting that pack feast, you know, where you guys got it on. I'd like to think that was the moment that Fox conceived," he said, wiping an imaginary tear from his eye as he smiled; what a touching moment.
