"sell your soul not your whole self"
With the body of the smaller canine still splayed before his feet, with its chest cut open and the half-gnawed guts bubbling out like foam the Ostrega lashed his tongue over his nose and muzzle, attempting to clean off the stain of blood that tainted him -- but of course it was useless. Just as useless as hiding the curiosity the younger stranger piqued in him.
Still focused on his mottled coat, Ciervo allowed his decisive gold eyes to run along the flank of the titan, silently inspecting and making hypothesis on whether the boy was like him, a roamer of the night.
But as the scrutiny came to a close, the conclusion that he in fact was not a free soul settled upon the man's mind.
What a shame.
Then, with his ears tilting and his temple slightly tipping to one side he took in the boy's gruff, hard voice and the tempting invitation he laced beneath it.
Puppies? More food when he had a whole fox laying at his feet?
Naturally, the Ostrega's greed would have won the dilemma, but as a man that used reason as his compass he remained motionless for a fleeting moment, his mind weighing the options and analyzing the possible outcomes or underlying reasons for such invitation.
"Do you?" he barked simply, buying the wheels and gears in his brain a little more time to decide what to do before giving any compromising answer.
"I'm still not done with the main course, it's a bit early to speak of dessert" he then added, his eyes flickering mischeviously as he made a subtle gesture for the boy to come closer and settle.
