As the young woman carefully looked about the great Forest Antares was studying it. They looked for different things, she, an ancestor she would never find, and he, the measure of worth that he so lusted after. Was it here he needed to be? Was this the place that they had been guided to? He choked back a snort and rolled his blue eyes at himself. If Mother saw him it would be yet another running gag with her, that she could have birthed such a starry eyed dreamer.

Though Antares rarely did admit it, he and his bi-eyed mother were quite alike. She had spent a life trying to live up to the lofty ideals laid out before her. However, her imprisonment had been self-afflicted and borne of the love a daughter had for her mother. A daughter who felt she owed too much, a daughter who judged her siblings on a heartless scale. Antares only judged himself, and scorned the concept of living up to the mistakes of others. In this, and most things, he fell short though.

The gruff male shook his coat out, making himself move and focus on things other than his endless pain and self angst. When he heard the soft steps of someone nearby he froze. He cursed himself for getting distracted again and let out a low warning bark. He had truly not rights to claim (yet) these lands however this area served as his home and he would still move to defend it if need be.
