There no longer lingered a doubt in Honey's mind. The first time around, she wasn't so quick to fall to conclusions, but the evidence was clear: Honey would soon again be a mother. It had been a week since her second encounter with the strange male of the South, and in the days soon past, things had begun to change. For one, all of hunting and foraging tasks had gone in vain. Soon after eating anything it seemed that her stomach was quick to disagree. Honey was dizzy and noticeably more clumsy than normal -- a tumble here and a tumble there was to be expected but falling face first into the cold terrain? That was new.
Though her thoughts were laced with joy and pride, there was an element of fear that came with it. What if her litter fell to the same fate as the last? She couldn't stand to lose her children again, and she planned to do whatever she could do keep them safe. But how?
Growing quite fond of the women of her pack, Honey released a howl calling for anyone who was listening. She needed reassurance and security, and who better to rely on than her sisters?
