She greeted her mother with excitement, returning the licks and whines happily as she rubbed her body against Valette's legs. While she had forgotten she was looking for the den, and her mother, she was no less excited to see her, especially since it was the longest she had been away from her ever.

The look Murdock shot her way did nothing to discern the young pup. In fact, it made her lop over to him, tail wagging, to attempt to rub against his leg. She was unaware of the fact he was injured, and therefore did not take care to leave that leg alone.
