Blacktail Deer Plateau one part longing, one part need, the rest withstanding

Even though his body put his strength on display through the cords of muscle it boasted, there was something even more dangerous lurking beneath his brutish surface and that was an intelligence unlike that which was most expected of someone like him.  

Many expected him to be dumb muscle, and he could play the role well.  His movements were languid and prowling, and he spoke very little unless addressed.  It was often assumed that he lacked in the upstairs department, and that speed was not something that came naturally to him.

And they would be wrong.  He does not turn at first when she speaks and only flicks an ear in her direction until he's finished pissing, then shakes his raised leg and addresses her with a raised brow.  Perhaps if Liri and Kavik's scent is so easily drowned by a newcomer, they should do a better job of securing their borders.

But he says nothing of the sort, for he is slow to anger.  I see.
