Phoenix Maplewood oh she dreams

She was too focused on searching to notice the figure creeping behind her until a growl cut towards her. The cat whirled, eyes searching for the one that challenged — only to be met with a small, lone wolf. 

— A toy!

Perhaps they had been left behind by whatever dwell here first; maybe a sickness was claiming her mind and was slowly starting to ruin her judgment. Lischo saw her chance to play. 

She crept forward, predatory silence radiating from her, her belly grazed the ground. She was closer now if the wolf held still she’d be in striking distance — if it was foolish enough to attack then it would be much the same outcome. The feline burst upwards with a yowl and hit the wolf across the face with a sheathed paw. Not a claw extended to hurt. She’d do that later. 
For now, she ran towards a tree and lept up its trunk, vertically clinging to it a few meters up and peering down to watch the wolf.
