The morning held a slight chill as the rising sun bathed the world within it’s light, chasing the shadows of night back to their hiding places. Fiery, liquid golden eyes, with the slightest hint of blue around his pupils glimpsed up at the panoramic view of the mountaintop from his view atop the plateau. A soft smile tugged ever so slightly at the corners of the Phase boy’s lips as he played with the irony of the pack’s name. Dragonwatchers. It was fittingly appropriate, he thought. He was still very new to the pack, having been freshly accepted by it’s Alpha Female Koontz, of whose last name he recognized. Chances were he was probably very distantly related to the DiSarinno-Redleaf’s in some way or another. The complexity of the vast and intensely massive family tree that intricately tied the biggest family names together was confusing at best. Height had never bothered Saga, though he had never actually lived on a plateau or mountain of any sort before. He barely remembered much of his childhood, other than Nocturne and him traveled around a lot, and that his father had serious ‘daddy issues’; and that his “nanny” hated him. Saga deduced long ago that it was probably because Nocturne did not requite her feelings and that everyone suspected that Nocturne truly loved his (Saga’s) birth mother though he refused to speak about her.

Autumn was among them, it could be felt in the crisp chill in the air, in the changing colors of the leaves, a brilliance of colors, orange, brown, red, yellow…flowers wilted with the transition between summer and winter. Winter was coming. But there were a few months left until the barrenness of old man winter took hold and covered the lands in stark colors. For now, Saga enjoyed the colors and smells of Autumn, which was one of his favorite seasons. Not even the seasons could escape the cycle of life; of life and death. Nothing, Saga, presumed, was beyond mother nature’s reign.

Soft sigh escaped his lips as Saga pushed himself up into a standing position, shaking his smoky black coat, peppered with cinnamon and rust through his guard hairs once. He itched to make himself useful to Koontz and her Dragonwatchers -- which he supposed he was now apart of -- but his knowledge of the pack was lacking too much for him to dive head first in, guns blazing, so to speak.
