Afterward, the Alpha male mused randomly, "I meant to find Finley. I wanted to ask her about the Beta thing..." Because, naturally, he and Fox had talked it over beforehand. Peregrine's brow furrowed, then she shrugged, letting it go for now. "I'm sure she'll turn up... probably at an inopportune time... like mid-bang."

But he wasn't going to let that possibility stop him. Peregrine gave his wife's rump a suggestive bite, then nudged her to more even ground, where they could practice the art of procreation. Because everyone knows that practice makes perfect.
