In a torturous fit of hunger, Dogmeat had left the group. Alone he could devise a plan -- alone, the male stood a better chance of befriending or beguiling any he encountered.

With a heavy and rolling gait the burly male struck towards where he recalled a pack border sat -- tentatively he nosed along frozen tundra where the territory's edges rolled into unclaimed tussock. Wearily, the male folded on the ground between two ice-laden fronds, his sunken gaze peering into the territory.

For now, he would study.
