All Welcome
Mama @Olive [and sister Eleuthera], brother @Séamus, and whoever else would be allowed near the den. Oaxaca gets functioning eyeballs today!

The calico caterpillar lounged across his mother’s dainty wrist in a languid sprawl, flexing his paws and peering at them with ever-widening eyes. His erstwhile sealed lids had been sundered by thin, asymmetrical slivers of misty blue, and through these slivers he could appreciate a growing, if blurry, dreamscape of light and color. He took his newfound eyesight in stride and silence, as was his wont, but perhaps Olive had already noticed. It took him some time before he sought to draw attention to himself — he was too busy cataloging his world in this brand new way. He realized that One was quite pale while Two was noticeably darker, a fact that he learned and relearned whenever they were sat beside one another.

Really, what he knew and didn’t know was, at this point, quite nebulous.

Lifting his head and cranking it back at what seemed a very uncomfortable angle but was actually quite nice [heads were heavy old things], the boy commented, “Ah,” in his light, babyish tenor. Lest she misunderstand him, “Ama. Ahhh,” he expounded. Then he patted his tiny paw against her wrist as though to reassure her — a gesture that was purely reflexive, but coincidentally communicated his easygoing nature. “All good, mama. No worries.”

one post cameo!

Coelho, despite her quaint namesake, truly shared no affinity for the cunicular species. Perhaps the only passing similarity was that she could be quite fast (okay, a little hare-brained at times too) -- even then despite her best efforts, those fleet-footed creatures often eluded her.

Today was not that day; clutched tight between her little teeth was the rounded form of a fat spring hare. She had every intention of sharing this succulent delight with Bronte -- but as she searched the landscape for his form, she was drawn to the distinct noise of squealing puppies.

No one in the world loved puppies more than Coelho -- her absurdly long ears swept forward, and she stopped; her muzzle high and features alert. Her keen ears worked rapidly atop her narrow skull, and once the source was detected, she joyously bounced in the direction of the den with fat, floppy hare in tow.

She cut a submissive form as she approached the newly discovered den site -- in a scramble of dirt and stone she deposited the plush hare near the mouth of the den. Then, she turned around and boogeyed right on out of there as if her tail had be lit afire.

Like her brothers, Eleuthera too had discovered her newest super power: sight. It was a wonderful thing, to know what colors were! There was vibrancy where there was once only light and dark — and even that had only been a muted, muffled understanding of what true sight could be. She was entirely enamored with the sight of her mother and of @Seabreeze, who oft inhabited the den with them; in fact, she had come to realize that both wolves looked quite similar and, given her newfound abilities, was having a distinct challenge telling them apart. There were times that the little shewolf approached the wrong greyscale mother and tried to nurse, but couldn’t successfully. Oh, that frustrated her! It would all soon change when other mama gave birth to her own litter, but there was no way for the gray little girl know that. She poked unknowingly around her environment, her locomotion still more of a wriggling crawl than resembling walking, as she worked to connect the sight of things to the feel of them and further understand her world.

Mama had momentarily left them to see to a disturbance just outside the mouth of their densite, depositing Oaxaca on the ground next to her. The moments that the three children were alone were few — not with two mamas to look after them — so Eleuthera saw this saw her chance. The girl thrust her nose into the ribby side of her younger brother, enjoying how he smelled and the way his downy fluff felt upon her sensitive nose. Then she moved to gum the side of his head with her snapdragon jaws. Mama had never left her get away with this, before! Excitedly she looked about, seeking the sandy-hued form that signified her brother @Séamus. She wondered what he tasted like, too!

look @ my siblings with these nice fonts and formatting.  i had some, too, but wolf ate my post so you get this instead. :unamused:

just like his siblings, the potato-boy's eyes had opened.  he liked to play in the sunlight that filtered in from above, watching his fat little body obscure the light from the floor as he soaked up the warmth.  and that was just what he was doing today, wobbling in and out of the dappled sunlight when — hey! — someone gummed him!

what??!?  the moms had never allowed that!  with a howl, he flailed his little arms at his sister, trying to get her OFF!!

Oaxaca was utterly unaware that there was a disturbance, so the first disturbance he registered was his mother lifting him and placing alongside Two, identifiable by hue in addition to her sweeter scent. She smelled like mama — they all did, but something about Two was different than One and Three. Her cold nose poked into the plush of Oaxaca’s side, having the effect of a deflating whoopee cushion; “wuhhh-huh-huh,” he huffed with something like a chuckle, his expression shifting from an open-mouthed expression of mirth to something resembling confused discomfort as she began to gum the side of his round apple head.

Um.

His head tilted to the side, his pinched facial features screwing further as he tried to decide whether or not he liked this — but the sensation was over before he could really get a handle on it. One tiny turtle flipper jerked up, displaying a spectacular lack of coordination, as he bopped himself in the nose trying to wipe away the wet feeling. Now that her mouth wasn’t affixed to his skull, the gummed area felt cold and lonely. A few beats behind, he began his own leisurely sojourn — and when One split the cloudy silence with an underwater-sounding wail, he picked up his head in surprise but kept at his snail-steady pace.

It was unfortunate that Oaxaca’s trajectory put him directly in the line of one hell of a face-rearranging à la Séamus. He was three right hooks in when he finally spoke up about it. “Whoooa,” he commented, lifting a paw and slowly, inexorably trying to push his toe beans up his brother’s nose or into his mouth to stop the barrage. “Sorry, man, you mind? I’ve hit my face-smacking quota, but you can try again tomorrow, yeah?”

Her teeth had met their mark, and Eleuthera felt a deep sense of satisfaction because of it. Having milk teeth was quite an uncomfortable thing and her tiny jaws sometimes pained her with the effort of growing — but this, the systematic chewing upon anything and everything that stood in her path — was the best way to release the itch. Not everyone agreed to it, though — like mama, she hated it, or Séamus, at that very moment. Eleuthera thought he was over reacting quite a bit, though. Her newfound eyesight made it possible for her to lay witness to the onslaught that befell the mellow Oaxaca. The small girl suddenly felt an upwelling of righteousness and compassion; all which culminated in her leaping and thrusting her body weight against that of her older brother, to make him shut up, or to free Oaxaca, or simple to teach him a lesson — but somewhere in their descent, Eleuthera realized that this was fun! and yipped for the clobbered boy to join the dog pile.
