All Welcome
he's wandering the borders of the bay today, half in exploration and half idly reinforcing the scent markers. the day is dull and grey, lifeless even, and it stirs a restlessness in his bones. ever a wanderer, sentinel yearns to venture beyond the coast again — yet something holds him back. fondness for his new home, perhaps — or is he simply reluctant to be alone for long after so many months of solitude? he can't decide.
his thoughts and his limbs are brought to a sudden halt by a rustling sound. he glances around with ears perked, searching for the source and half-hoping it's a packmate; despite his penchant for solitude, he's found himself in a mood for company recently. or... specific company, maybe. if only he knew whose.

The pack had grown strong since their formation, and the warhound found it pleasantly well-fortified by the frequent trips to their borders. All of those that he had taken into the rift had proven themselves to be willing, and caring things. For all of his faults, he was not certain that he would have been able to garner such attention if he hadn’t done something right. The witchdoctors had spoken of dangerous things in him, but he had never been able to truly believe in their word – not when it hadn’t been proven. He had been stormblessed, after all.

Stepping through the brush, the titan latched his sights on the mute. He offered a soft smile to the silent fellow and inhaled to catch the scents on the other’s coat. It seemed that Sentinel had been getting to know the others well; that was promising. “Have you been enjoying your time here, Sentinel?” the dark sea wraith inquired in a rumbling tone.

it is ford that appears, greeting him with a smile that sets his heart off-beat and brings heat to his ears. he dips his head a little shyly, his own lips curving up in automatic response. to the man's question, he nods, eyes bright and tail swishing as he briefly recalls his recent encounters. admittedly, he'd been a little worried at first; his cliffside encounter with velen had not been the best of beginnings. yet his fortune seems to have turned, and he finds himself becoming more comfortable here with each passing day. he hadn't realized how much he'd wanted a home until now. the thought is accompanied by a rush of gratitude, and his gaze warms as it lingers on his leader; it is all owed to him, of course.

The boy was quick to nod his head in response to the question. Ford followed the pleasant change of his features and breathed a quiet sigh. It was good that Sentinel was settling in; he had been worried that there would be distress with a wolf that couldn’t speak. At least with Hymn, she could plead her case and state that she was permitted to be there. Of course, the titan did not know what had happened with Velen and Sentinel. He wasn’t likely to find out unless his brother informed him. Instead, he opted to believe that the golden man was getting on well in their territory. “Have you met many of the others?” Ford inquired softly, hoping that some of the kinder members of the rift would have made themselves known to the newcomer.

ew sorry this sucks
though he does appreciate ford's thoughtfulness in keeping to questions he can answer with a nod, he quickly finds himself a little disheartened by the repetition of their conversation. he offers another nod nonetheless, feeling guilty for the thought. it seems ungrateful, when his leader is only trying to accommodate him. still, he can't help but hate that he is so limited by his own body.

not as bad as this

Yes, the repetition of the types of questions was bothersome for Ford too. He wasn’t as appreciative of the idea that he had to be limited with how he posed is queries. He was a man who had grown to appreciate a skillful tongue; to hinder that was almost like crippling the man. Still, he wanted the golden boy to feel as though he was supportive of his limitations. The titan did not wish to paint himself in a poor light. It must have already been difficult that Sentinel could not speak.

“Met any ladies you like? Or… men?” he opted to inquire with a small smile. It was another yes or no question, but it would lead to more. Whether Sentinel could speak or not, Ford had decided to try digging into his mind as deep as he could. The quickest way was through the heart, he’d found. There was a small risk in bringing up such subjects. There was always the chance that his companion would find the question intrusive and grow uncomfortable. That lingering uncertainty was like a raging wildfire that was trapped within him.
