For @Sanja ^^ <3
Clouds were scattered overhead to create shade from the sun. The weather was still warm. As the narrow pathway opened into a secluded area beside water, the heat of the summer sun seemed to diminish.
Eventyr padded over a round hill and paused at its highest point. Her moon silver gaze journeyed down along the stony ridge and found several places where she could leave the bypass if she needed. She settled her sights on the body of water that journeyed out in small rivers. It would be good to bathe and to wash away the dirt of her travels.
The pale figure trotted forward, finding speed when the cries of hunting hawks echoed from over her head. Eventyr was pleased that the new land was so expansive. She had covered a great distance and still had not seen the extent of the wilds.
At the edge of the water, the pale wolf drank. Her paws dipped into the soft soil at the shore.

The screech of a hawk drew her eye up.
There had been a bird hovering over the valley for a time. When it departed so did Sanja, following eagerly at first, until she lost sight of it along the edge of the bypass. The mountains here were steep and distant, and she was not sure about climbing them. Her belly was swollen; something was wrong with her, but Sanja did not know what.
The bird's wings flashed copper in the sun, catching her eye. As it wheeled deeper within the valley Sanja followed until, again, she could not. She came upon a lake's edge. The surface was still except where fish broke the surface, hunting in their own way for bugs. The air was thick with summer heat.
