All Welcome
Towhee and her family had left the vale and never returned. This had made mama and papa sad, which in turn made Sylianos sad, but of the Redhawks, he had virtually no memories. The only one whose face he even recalled was the weirdo with the twitchy paws, and she had not impressed him in the slightest.

Suffice it to say, Sylianos didn’t really miss them and their absence made no impact on his life. He became more and more proficient at speaking with @Saleem, so much so that he became reliant on it and had only recently learned a handful of words that others could understand, nearly a month later than expected for a boy his age.

Ma! called Sylianos, all big paws tapping and tail wagging as he zeroed in on the object of interest: a bulbous spider that appeared to be hovering below a low-hanging tree branch. Maaaaa!

❝sylanios!❞ a hardly scolding tone, but she hoped it was enough to pull his attention away from whatever creature his focus was directed at.

she took on a hurried pace towards him, hovering at his side with a light pant on her features. zulema had never considered herself hovering, but with the absences of others, which seemed to be ever growing, she could not pull the urge away. her mother's attention and the time spent with her growing siblings is where she tried to find her happiness.

she had heard his calling for his mother, anticipating her arrival in the back of her mind.

❝that is a, um... no touch?❞ her simple speech was edged with laughter as she peered at the spider with a disgusted stare.

Twisting his head this way and that and whining low in his throat, Sylianos scrutinized the hanging insect. Leggy Bulb, he thought, but his delayed speech prevented him from verbalizing this.

Up went the pup's ears and down went his tail when his sister called his name in a tone that felt more admonishing than it really was. He snapped to attention and whirled around, eager to show that he was a good boy who could listen. Zulema seemed focused on the spider rather than him. He let his tail relax into a choppy wag.

Tusssh? he repeated with a quick tilt of his head that made his ears flap comically to the side. He liked his name better.

"Sylianos!" was all Saleem needed to hear to come running to his brother's side. Their older sister, Zulema, was the yeller of the name, and Saleem gave his brother a few quick licks on the cheek in greeting. Like his brother, he tended to speak only the gibberish language only they knew. Communicating with anybody else was decidedly difficult.

He looked at the spider with interest after realizing that was what Zulema was focused on, mimicking her disgusted face.

Gonna fade Silly out here with some PP since Zulema is inactive so we can have a newer one instead, feel free to post again or archive as-is!

No touch, Zulema corrected before directing Sylianos' and the newly arrived Saleem's attention to the creature's many legs. See the legs? She lifted one of her own and gave it a waggle, prompting Sylianos to do the same with a little giggle. So many legs means no touch.

On account of being unable to count, he failed to understand her meaning. The spider seemed to be doing nothing at all and Sylianos soon grew bored of looking at it. "Come on, let's race!" he told his brother, slapping the earth twice with his forepaws and wiggling his rump high in the air before dashing away, leaving spider and Zulema both in his dust.
