I'm making an assumption that @Zaria met Cho at the borders, to make this is the first time FitzDutiful and Cho have met. Mar, let me know if it doesn't make sense for Zaria to accept Cho and I can change this. EDIT - removing the assumption :D

FitzDutiful was having a lazy day today. He had spent the morning hanging out with his den with his children. They were very get-up and go now and he was realising that they were about to fly the coop, so to speak. It was possible that in a few months they would want to move out of their family den and find places of their own to live - he didn't want to consider the possibility that they would want to find a new pack to live in.

When the sun reached the pinnacle of the mountain, he stretched and headed out into the pack lands, deciding to do a bit of patrolling and ensure the pack lands were safe for his pack. Once he'd been walking for a while he heard a small voice from somewhere saying they were knew. He'd heard a howl from the borders had gone to investigate, he'd accepted the wolf in question but having been half asleep at the time he didn't recognise this one as being the same wolf.

Not sure where the voice came from he looked around and spotted a white wolf, "Hi, I'm FitzDutiful, the alpha here," he said to the female, smiling kindly, "It's nice having new wolves come and join us." He waited for her to introduce herself, hoping that she wouldn't need prompting to introduce herself.

Seeing that she was welcomed with the sound of a howl , Seeing a male come up to her she lowered her tail. He was intimidating to her , she then heard his words a felt more safe now. "T-thank you ..Fitz.. Im Cho Alumni but i would prefer Cho."

No need to quote the posts, they read in consecutive order so it's easier to follow the story without quotes. I edited your post to remove the quote as I had to edit my first post and it would get confusing :)

FitzDutiful noted the lowering of her tail and nodded ever so slightly at the sight. Although he didn't demand submission within the pack lands it was nice to have the respect shown. He liked the wolves in his pack to feel at home, for the pack to be a family, but at the same time everyone must know their place. He wouldn't have wolves thinking they could be disrespectful to wolves higher up the rankings and get away with it.

"How are you finding things on the mountain, Cho?" he asked her, trying to keep his voice steady and calm. His counsellor training allowed him to pick up on the nervous tension she seemed to be sending his way. Cho reminded him of Ryuu when they had first met, completely unsure of her place but wanting to be of use. Ryuu had come a long way since then and he had hopes that Cho would start to find things comfortable here too. Maybe he could inspire her with trades, the same way he had with Ryuu.

"I havent been here for too long.. so i haven't seen much of the mountains."
Her voice became more bearable for hearing and is more firm, she then highered her tail and ears showing that shes more comfortable with his presence. "I feel happy to be here though..The air is so crisp and clean smelling makes me feel younger.." a faint wag showed in her tail

I removed the quote of my post again, just hit the reply button without quoting any other posts - it makes for easier reading for everyone :D

Cho explained that she hadn't seen much of the mountains and FitzDutiful nodded, though he couldn't help laughing when she explained how the mountain air made her feel younger. "As young goes, you're probably the youngest here, aside from the pups." He added, not wanting her to feel like he was laughing at her.

"Would you like me to give you a quick tour?" he asked her. He was pretty sure that he hadn't given her one the last time, and it would allow him to patrol while escorting her around. Although he wasn't as funny about new wolves being in the pack now his children were older, he remembered the number of wolves that joined for winter and then left as soon as better weather came around. He was prepared for that to happen again, and it was due to start in the next few moons. That didn't mean he had to like it.

She would feel a mocking tone in his voice causing her to become flustered ,not trying to show it her fur became more fluffed up "Oh..is that so.. well .. cant to be to bad to be the youngest right....?

and sure.. a tour would be very nice .. maybe i can meet a few other pack members. "  She have a small smile and another tail wag formed. She hand never experienced this kind of kindness before.

If you want to read over where they'll be going to get descriptions, see this thread

He noticed the fluffing of her fur and wondered at it, was she irritated at his jovial tone or had he insulted her? Unsure, he decided the best thing to do was to just move onwards with the conversation and leave that aspect of it behind.

"Let's set off with the tour then," he said leading the way, "We might meet more of the pack along the way, but if not then there'll be time later. I'll hold a pack meeting soon to introduce the newer members, we've a few."

With that, he lead the way to the recently destroyed Felsig Forest.

Cho didn't appear to have much to say for herself, and that almost concerned FitzDutiful. For a moment he wondered on his philosophy of just accepting any wolf that wandered their way. He would be more careful when young pups were around - as he had been previously - but with winter on the way he hated to turn wolves away.

"Tell me about yourself," he told her, meaning it to be a question but phrasing it more as a statement. They wandered through the ruined forest, on their way to the waterfall. FitzDutiful took the scenery in as they meandered through. It was terribly ruined, he hoped that the winter wouldn't be too harsh on the already broken landscape, but had faith that spring would start to heal it. Already he was sure some plants were turning upright again, moving towards the sun. Nature, after all, took care of her own.

Cho was seeming evasive - at least that's how it appeared to FitzDutiful. She wasn't answering the question, instead answering it with another question. He frowned, wondering why she wasn't forthcoming with anything of interest about herself as they picked their way along the forest trails - stepping over broken trees that were in their way.

"A storm recently hit the valley," FitzDutiful explained as a moment's side conversation. "This is the only thing that really affected us. As for you, well - what are your interests?" he liked to make sure his wolves were going after trades, with some interests he hopefully could inspire her to take on a trade.

Realising that she hadn't answered questions very well so far he hastily added a bit onto the end of his question, before she could reply. "Are you interested in guarding, fighting, nature, healing, stories, exploring, puppies or hunting, for example." He didn't want that to be an exhaustive list of options, but any of those would help.

"A storm..? thats not good at all.. im not fond of storms. Im terrified of thunder .." she glanced around "Oh those kind of interests! well i like nature more the the less , and healing, i know some plants that would go well for wounds but i dont know if there is any here ??  there was an abundance in from my birth area out of Teekon. Im not much of a fighter im not well with hunting because i was never properly taught. She somewhat rambled on "Uhh what else... i like the winter time, the snow, the crisp cold air just the things about winter time" she spoke with happiness.

"Anything more, that you would like to know? im not so sure what to say ..i was never really social with others."

Cho described that she was scared of storms and FitzDutiful was quick to comfort her. "Don't worry!" he said, hastily, "I've been here for over a year and that was the first I've seen of it. If you're ever scared, anyone in the pack will help you - here we're family." he smiled at her and she expressed her interests.

It seemed he had badly misjudged her and FitzDutiful felt a little abashed at knowing this. "I guess socialisation takes time. I didn't know that you'd grown up more or less alone." he paused, giving her time to respond to this statement before turning the conversation back onto interests.

"From what you've told me, you might consider taking up the naturalist trade - that's all about plants with a few elements of healing." He considered something for a moment before continuing, "You might want to work on some weakness, like taking up warden so you know how to defend yourself and our lands, and maybe try something you'd never considered before - like being a pack counsellor!" FitzDutiful was thinking of giving up that trade himself. As an alpha, he found it hard to just listen to the problems of others without having to actively solve them. He was maybe better off finding another interest to investigate.

She felt reassured when he told her that other pack members would help her if there was any sorts of thunder. "Really..? " She smiled felling somewhat better twords that are of her fear

After his pause she said "Well.. yes no one would really know these things , unless you told them so. So i guess that's the fault of mine, but then why would you really say that kind of thing to someone you just met?
I suppose i can trust you since your the alpha and such."

"Naturalist Trade? that seems like something to my liking and knowledge .but as for a warden that seems scary .. but i guess self defense is something all wolves should know right?"
She paused to think of her words.
"A Pack counselor also seems like something i would like.. i good at listening to others and for what they have to say , good or bad . As well as the body language..i can guess if something is wrong by how they act.. Does that make sense?

"What else is there?"

Cho had a point - why would she have mentioned it first off? Still, it was something to work on. FitzDutiful wondered how Zaria would react to the female, he knew her well enough to know Zaria didn't take well to those that seemed cowardly. Still, she knew the family motto and respected it well enough - he wouldn't have made her beta if he disn't trust Zaria to accept and work with his decisions.

Cho was into the idea of trades it seemed, asking him about more of them and FitzDutiful gleefully replied. He loved learning and loved to know his family were bettering themselves. "I'll run through them all, so don't mind if I repeat myself," he offered a fair bit of warning before launching in.

"There's the physical trades - gamekeeper, warrior, warden. Gamekeeper is all about hunting and providing food, finding herds and make sure we can survive the tough times. Warrior is offensive fighting, being able to come up with tactics to launch attacks whereas Warden is the counter to that and is in charge of defence of the pack lands. I recommend all wolves have some training them fighting, even if they don't take one as a trade."

He let that sink in before moving on.

"Then there's more exploration trades - outrider, naturalist. A naturalist studies the plants, skies, stars, land; anything to do with nature really and determines how it affects us. An outrider deals with messages between us and other packs and goes out to recruit others too."

He paused to recall all the others.

"We also have some social trades - counsellor, chronicler, healer and caretaker. A counsellor, does as it says on the tin really - counsels wolves and tries to help with their problems. A chronicler is a storyteller, some specialise in stories of the packs history whereas others go more morality. Healers heal and take care of the injured and caretaker's look after the elderly and the puppies of the pack."

FitzDutiful was finished, he laughed; "There's quite a lot, something for anything, though three is the maximum I allow any wolf to officially dedicate themselves too."

"Okay, List em' " She listened carefully to him, as he soon started to list and she was becoming over whelmed by the amount of information coming out of his mouth, it was good information to know though.

"How soon would i be abel to learn some fighting/defense skills, I know i shouldn't be this weak but i cant help the way i had lived in my past, plus im still a pup somewhat."   There was a slight cold tone in her voice with that statement but still she thought about how she would do with fighting, it somewhat excited her and made her adrenaline kinda pump up. As of that he moved on

"A naturalist seems something i would really like to do , i feel in touch with nature.. and all thoes good bits that come within nature itself " her voice trailed off into her thought, Then he moved on again.

"And form the social trade.. i think a counselor  would fit me best aswell i like helping other emotionally wise because sometimes you just need to talk it out to feel better and flourish mentally.. and or Healing i want make the other feel better if they are unable because their wounded." Done saying her preferences she sighed and wagged her tail.

"Three trades isnt that bad, give other something to do than just one"

FitzDutiful took the time to ponder over Cho's words as he waited for her to talk about the trades he had listed. She wasn't a pup, not in any sense that he considered and his eyes had narrowed every so slightly when she spoke it, and the tone she had spoken in. His own children would be adults at nine months and Charon was running his own pack at the same as as Cho. No, not a pup and he wouldn't give her special treatment just because she thought she was.

Moving on, he focused on her questions. "You don't have to pick one from each if you don't want to. You can have all physical if that's what you desire." Now that point was clear he continued to answer her questions; "If you want defence, I know some though it will have to be another day. Zaria also has knowledge of offence and I'm sure any of our pack will spar with you if you ask them." Except maybe Ryuu; "The naturalist trade is best learnt through experience, though again both Zaria and myself have knowledge in areas of that trade. If you want to go down the healer route, find Ryuu; she's also working on that trade."

He gave her a moment to reply, if she so wished, before saying his farewells. "Come let me know when you decide for sure; I have to get to border patrols now, though."
