All Welcome
@Steady & @Zaria: you can attack immediately if that's something they would do. Based on the #brutalmode roll of 14 this week, you can maim her but please don't kill her. Up to you if Sollie gets any hits in but it's okay if she doesn't, she couldn't do that much damage anyway. Anyone else is free to join as well.

Her parents always told her they didn't have to abide wolf laws. The weren't wolves. To remain safe, however, required them to at least keep away. To keep some distance between themselves and a pack. A single wolf could kill them. A whole pack could be worse. Most of them remain in their forest and were careful when wolves came through. Since she's left the safety confines of her home, Sollie has mostly kept to herself with minor run ins. This night, however, she'd gone a little farther than she intends.

She doesn't exactly remember how far into the territory she'd gotten but she is more more interested in the spoils she found. The foxes don't go as long without eating as other predators so when the girl comes across the cache, she can't help herself but to unveil it. The shadows hide her form and the wind is stagnant for the moment, she Sollie deems herself temporarily safe as she tears apart the remains of some undistinguishable kill.

Zaria was in for a meal, and since they hunted a bighorn sheep this week it was great to snack on its reserves. Zaria felt like she earned a good meal, it was cold after all and since she was rather slender she needed food to stay warm. Most of the time she liked to stay inside the caves, but that wasn't always the case. Their food was out there, if she wanted some she had to go through the snow.

The feisty female trotted through the deeper snows that had come down the mountain, eager to have a quick meal and go back to do something else. As she came to the cache with the bighorn sheep left overs she spotted an annoying red furred thing, a fox. Instantly Zaria charged wanting to chase that vermin away from their food. She tried to jump on the fox, wanting to add her body to the caches. Though foxes were swift, as she tried to jump on the fox she howled for back up.

Steady had been roaming the territory, on and off the borders of the pack. He had just started to make his way inward when Zaria's call for back up rang through the trees. Steady bolted into a run immediately, trying to get there as fast as he could, a million things running through his head. Was the cougar back? Had another wolf intruded upon their lands? One thing was for sure- the intruder would not leave unscathed.

He spotted Zaria, then a flash of red. Steady got in on the action, going after the fox. It must of had a death wish if it was going after their hard-earned caches. Steady would be glad to fulfill that wish. If he got his fangs on that fox, that would be the end of it.

Sollie hears the wolf before she sees it, eyes widening and dropping the bits in her mouth.  She’d eaten as much as she could in the short amount of time, but it barely looked like a dent, but there isn’t time to think about anything else as she tries to turn and dash away.  The night only cloaks her for so long as the other is quickly upon her, jumping at her form as she turns tail and takes off.

She’s knocked to the ground but her form is small enough to weasel out from beneath the other’s legs and try to take off again.  The snow slows her down but she gets back to her feet to jump through the hurdles.  Sollie skis to a stop, flinging snow around her as another wolf shows up from the other side with fleshing teeth.  The fox’s eyes pop out of her head as she angles in another direction in an attempt to get away.

The fox was indeed a little weasel. Zaria was close to having her and biting down her throat when the little scavenger got away from her grip. Instantly the slender female chased after her. The snows slowed Zaria too, yet she had the gracefully long legs and the snow was not yet that deep for her. Her irritation to the snow was forgotten. Zaria's only focus was that of the fox that ate from their hard earned meals.

With Steady joining her from the other side Zaria jumped sideways after the fox. It was quite the case, the fox was lucky it had an earlier start. Zaria had no time to greet Steady or to exchanged pleasantries. This fox was going to die for what she did. Her green eyes murderous, as she tried to grab the fox by its hind legs.

Don't touch Zaria's food >D

There was simply no time for pleasantries when Steady showed up. They had business to get to, and Steady followed Zaria's lead, going after the thieving fox. She had froze for a fraction of a second, and Steady used the opportunity to lunge at her, his teeth coming close in contact with her fur. But, the little fox was quick.

If they couldn't grab a hold of it, Steady would at least try to herd it out of their territory, which is what he did. He snapped his jaws at her to try and get her to turn toward the borders. He was close enough, it was possible his jaws could connect with flesh.

It’s not long before Sollie’s trying to get away that she feels the snatch of her rear end pulled the opposite direction.  Teeth clench around one of her legs and pull her back.  The fox aggressively digs at the snowy ground to keep herself on the earth but the pull nearly knocks all her legs out from beneath her.  She hits the ground once her front legs come out from beneath her and she twists around and curls inward like a feeling, snapping at the female’s jaw to let her go.

Sollie suddenly cries out when the teeth of another grazes her shoulder, taking mostly fur in tufts.  A fox as small as she barely stands a chance against two wolves, especially when both have grabbed either end of her body.  Her paws swip with the mix of teeth, trying to pull herself in any reprieve.

Zaria was pleased that she had one of her rear legs between his jaws, what she didn't expect was that the fox was so flexible that she could hurt her right back. It was only moments later that the fox's teeth made contact with her muzzle. Zaria, who wasn't expecting this, let her grip loosen for a bit. She had underestimated the fox, a rookie mistake. It could be the chance of the fox getting away.

Steady was on her too, Zaria tried to relocate her bite to somewhere more fatal, like the vixen's belly or maybe even better her neck. But for that she needed to let go of the fox. Zaria decided to take that risk, wanting the little critter dead.

Zaria was successful in grabbing the fox's leg, pulling her back even as she tore at the ground to get away. It gave Steady the opportunity to go for her shoulder, and though he mostly got fur, his teeth grazed her skin, and it fueled his desire to sink his teeth into her, to make her pay for entering their territory.

But, this little fox was not going to go down without a fight. She turned on Zaria, aiming for muzzle and getting it. Zaria, in surprise, jerked back to save herself from bad damage. Steady growled, lunging at the fox, intending to pounce her with his full one hundred and fifty pounds. It could and would crush her if he got her.

If it's okay with you, she could escape here? :)

She doesn’t notice she’d actually gotten the wolf across the muzzle but her leg is released and she hits the ground despite Steady’s grip on her fur. She tears away, weaseling her shoulders away from teeth of two power sets of jaws that could end her life. Sollie doesn’t get a chance to figure out where either wolf is because her feet hit the ground, running through the snow.

If the sun had been above them, she would have seen one of their shadows enveloping her but she only feels a gust of force and snow, propelling her forward. She runs as fast as her little legs can carry her, trying to find smaller places to run through so they might not get her.

Of course! Thanks for helping out!

Zaria was quite irritated once she looked up. The fox had fled from their jaws and it was quite disappointing. Zaria's green eyes looked after the orange dot that disappeared in the distance. It was too great of a distance to catch up with the fox. Zaria let out a soft huff and shook her head. "We need to work on this Steady," she commented grimly towards him. There was no mean words or growling towards him, she had let the fox escape just as much as Steady had. They would have to work on their offense if it was two against one and they were still losing.

Instead of pouncing on a warm fox with a death wish, Steady got nothing but cold snow in his face as his full weight came down in the snow. He got back up to chase the sly creature, but she was long gone. Steady shook the snow off as best he could, but some still clung to his face.

He looked to Zaria, shame obvious on his face as his tail hung defeatedly low between his back legs. His head lowered as she spoke, his voice void of the usual cheerfulness. Yes, ma'am, he replied. He was supposed to be the protector of the pack, the guardian of the family. Right now, however, he felt like a failure.

Zaria looked at the defeated statue that was Steady. Even though this sucked for them, Zaria was certain that they would get any trespasser next time. Plus the slender female wasn't one to wallow. She stepped forward and nudged him with his nose. "Head up," she spoke. "That fox won't return. I am sure of it. Even though a kill would have been more effective we did give her a good scare," Zaria pointed to the black colored male. Zaria was quite harsh at times but she did have a softer side. She didn't show it that often but she wanted Steady to be confidence. Offense was mostly about confidence and believing that your attack would work. "Lets have some food together, yes?," she offered, so they could talk about that, and maybe some different tactics they could try next time.

His tail wagged between his legs as Zaria nudged him, lifting his head and his spirits a bit. No, she won't soon forget us, he agreed. She'll be sore for a couple days, at least. For her sake, she better hope her memory lasted much longer than that.

He nodded, A snack sounds great, he said. Letting her lead the way, he followed by her side to cache that the fox had tried getting into. Excitement always got him hungry.
