This is just a one-post thread I made to reference how Zaavier reacted to the locusts before he headed to Reek's den!

The ominous buzzing noise grew louder as he walked. Ever growing fear bubblibg at the pit of his stomach. Soon, large bugs were crashing through the trees, landing on every bit of vegetation as they could. "Damnit!" He yelled and turned on his heels, racing back the way he came. He had to warn the others. He had to gather herbs!

The batting of wings was loud in his ears. His skin stung as one after another caught up to him, hitting him in the race to get to the plants first. Zaavier pressed on, snapping at the locusts and swerving this way and that. His eyes darted to the side and saw a clump of herbs. He swerved left, ignoring the locusts hitting his sides. Soon, they would be everywhere. He grabbed at the herbs, ripping them from the ground and starting his race again. He was now fully surrounded by the bugs, but he didn't care. All he cares about is getting to a safe place to hide the herbs.

Eslani's den! That's were he could store the herbs. Of course, the locusts could get in there, but he could do something about that. Suddenly, his mind began working again. His frantic behavior from before disappeared and he ran forwards on determined paws. As soon as her reached the den, he shoved himself inside. He snapped at the couple of locusts that had gotten there before him, killing them or driving them out. His sides heaves as he set the herbs down, turning around to do something about the entrance. "Sorry Eslani," he said to himself. He scraped at the walls, letting the opening cave in. Now, there was no way in, and Zaavier could reach them if need be. He sat down, watching the bugs fly by him. Once in a while, they would hit him, and he just growled and snapped.

How were they going to hunt? Without the the grass, the rabbits and deer and other prey were going to leave. Even the most of the birds will! Then, it hit him. Locusts could not swim, so therefore they could not eat the aquatic plants. They had to fish!
