Pack Activity
Please have your character participate in this thread, is is MANDATORY. After the meeting they will have a choice to stick with the pack or find shelter for themselves and their mate. PP for the pack to arrive. @Aaron @Faramir @Liri @Maja @Samuel @Gotham @Hosannah @Tsuki

When the first few bugs landed beneath her feet, she became hesitant to continue on her way. She had learnt most of her knowledge from her Grandmother, long ago. She had told Amara of swarms of bugs, locust they were called, that were carnivorous to anything in their path. Well, at least to all vegetation. It would mean disaster for their forest, and her budding garden. But the pack was her priority, as she had come to learn. She could always restart, but the forest would need to regrow, to her dismay. It would take a long while, depending if the hoard was still to come. She did not know if they knew of the old bugs, so she squashed one underneath her foot and carried it in her mouth to the center of the territory, Lover's Grove. She fretted that the red flowers would be gone in the locust destruction.

Her head swung back to call for the pack, each and every member with urgency. Some did not know her but there was no mistaking she was an Alpha. Aaron stood with her, arriving just a second later. She dropped the bug at his feet, signalling the danger to him. "There are locusts in the forest, Aaron. I fear the plants will not survive after the swarm passes through. They eat everything in their path," The grasshopper looking bug was a killer, as her Grandmother had put it. "They will drive away the herds," She shuddered in fright, fearing that the destruction might be even more disastrous than she thought. More of her subjects arrived to her call, no doubt overhearing her information.  "We must find our caches and prepare, who knows how long they will pass over. The few that you see is only the beginning. Anyone who would like to stay with me and Aaron is welcome to do so, we will find a secure place to stay until after the swarm passes over, which could be days," She looked to Aaron for anything to add before re-addressing her pack. "Please stay calm, we will be fine," She did not believe that they were in critical danger, but the aftermath, she did not know. As she spoke, a few locust turned into a hundred, and they didn't stop coming. "Quickly, we must find a cave to hide!" There was no halting the storm.

Liri rushed for the clearing, hearing the call. It sounded urgent and she knew that it meant something was wrong. The white woman wasted no time with pleasantries as she sat near @Samuel, knowing she was expected to be represented as a pair with him now that they were mated. Liri waited patiently, wondering what the problem was.

Spotting the bug, she began to undestand. Of course Liri had never experienced a swarm first hand but all pups were taught about locusts and the havoc they wrought.

It resembled a grasshopper but she knew better. It was evolved, changed into something new. An abundance of plant life caused a few innocuous grasshoppers to breed rapidly, changes taking place almost overnight until suddenly they were no longer grasshoppers. They were locusts. The swarms could travel in groups of thousands, moving through and destroying the habitats they passed through as they searched for sustenance to support their vast numbers. Only when they ran out of food would they change back to grasshoppers.

Liri glanced at Samuel in worry. What did this mean for their pack? No comment was able to be made as the sky darkened and  the shrill noise of the bugs filled her ears. Taking heed to Amara's words, Liri fled with her pack.

Tsuki was hunting when she heard the call, it must have been urgent, as it seemed stressed. She raced to the clearing with voles in her mouth and was surprised to hear the news. Tsuki knew of locusts but had never truly experienced them, only the aftermath of them. She gave a horrified glance at Liri and an unknown male before fleeing to safety with the rest of her pack.

she fought the creatures as best she could, having to fjord her way through thousands as she made a hasty retreat; following the white figure of liri from where hosannah had encountered her near the wapun, she was exhausted by the time she heard amara's call. the trees were dark and encrusted by the bodies of many creatures, and all hosannah could do was try to keep them off of her. when the first few rose-wolves headed for the cover of the caves, she followed - snapping at the buzzing creatures or sliding herself against nearby trees to try and rid her body of their unsettling sensations.

I was thinking of dropping Gotham actually :/ I just found his whole personality a little too messy, and it just isn't fun to write for him anymore. Perhaps he would end it all when he sees the destruction the locusts had caused to his new home or something :/

Buzzing sounds and tingly yet horrible touches were what awoke the gray brute. What the fuck? What were these creatures? In panic, he jumped up, desperately trying to avoid the monsters. He snapped at a few of them, killing some of them in the process. When he heard the howl, he rushed toward the caves, running with the others to a safe spot. It hurt. The bloody things hurt like shit as they jumped almost inside of his nose, his eyes and some even in his mouth.

He arrived and panted loudly. What the fuck was going on?

The words of Amara worried the boy greatly. Locusts , a strange insect that caused havoc no matter where they were. He saw Liri's worried glance at him, he could only stare at her with hopeful and reassuring eyes. He tried to make his frown into a soft smile, it was small.

However, the large swarm soon came. Hundreds- no thousands of them began to fill in. His eyes reflected fear, for he saw Liri rise to her feet like everyone else. He soon joined in, thundering alongside his beautiful wife as they fled. He moved close to her as he ran, trying to absorb any locusts that dared touch her. His large body tried to shield her as best as it could, he could feel their damned wings buzz in his ears as the entire pack of the Rosings fled.

): we'll miss you @Gotham! lots of love <3 thanks for helping to make this pack a thing (:

Aaron pressed himself to Amara's side. She could take care of herself, he knew, but it was bred into him to protect the women-- she was top priority for a number of reasons. She called out to the pack, and they arrived as quickly as usual. Amara told them of the issues at hand and-- halfway through her proposition-- the locusts came at full. They rolled in like waves of an ocean and did not stop. He raised his voice above the buzzing. "To the caves!" he yelled, speaking of the beautiful clear-water caves at the base of the mountains in the west of their territory. He nudged his woman to move and began off. He urged his pack to follow him to safety, but he currently only cared to keep his beautiful alphess safe.

Faramir looked about in confusion amidst the chaos that surrounded them. All he knew was that an enormous amount of bugs were everywhere, they were finding a cave, and he had to keep Maja safe. His ears constantly flickered about to try and block out the bugs and the annoying sound they made. He made off following Aaron's voice, keeping him in view while ensuring his mate was right beside him. God, how were they going to make it to the caves, even?

short post to keep things going but there is no post order after this don't worry! just have your character post once. happy hiding!

She had guided her family to the caves, taking shelter behind mounds of moss covered rocks. This somewhat hid her from the locuts but the occasional bug made it's way into the caves, although there was nothing to eat. She looked at her family, their terrified expressions she could not sooth. They would starve if they could not catch bird, and still, that would not be a lot. Once the swarm became thin, they would need to dig up what remained of their caches. Every last peice counted. But it would not be all for themselves, they worked together. "I will not lie. There will be nothing left of our forest, and food will grow thin. As soon as the locusts pass over, we will round up our caches and ration whatever we have left. After that, we will hunt for what we can find. We do not go alone," She wanted that to be absolutly clear. In desperate times, they needed eachother. Never would she consider the possiblity of cannibalism within her own family. It would not happen on her watch. Nothing bad would happen while she was around, she could fix it.

"Aaron, stay with me," She looked to him, a soft plea for him not to leave her alone. She didn't want anyone to be alone. This was a state of mass shock, but she had to stay alert, strong. If the leader became weak, who did they look to to lead? She could not let them see what she felt inside. Terror. Pure terror of what was to come.

They made it to the caves-- beautiful despite the world around them. They were blue, with large pools of crystal clear water and moss growing all around them. Locusts that moved into the caves began to devour the moss right away, and Aaron had not the motivation to shoo them from the green foilage. He stared sadly as the bugs destroyed the moss, his ears lowering. Amara moved towards him, begging him-- at least it sounded like begging to him-- to stay with her, and he looked at her with a shocked expression. "Do you really think I'd leave?" he asked quietly, pulling her closer and resting his head on her own. His blue gaze fell over the members of the pack that had made it to the cave, and he prayed that everyone would make it safely.

she fell in to step with the others, hurriedly entering the cave where they could take solace. the darkness was frightful but nothing compared to the strangeness of the bugs. having the others around her was of great importance, as they made the transition easier for the frightened woman; once settled, hosannah would try to sleep. it would not come for her this day — she would lurk in the dark and watch the flickering light with bated breath, as if witnessing a battle between raas and the evil outside. surely he would purge the world of these creatures before much harm could be done? the woman silently prayed, her eyes on the cave mouth as others of the pack slipped in for safety, and mumbled many incantations under her breath.

Ducking to enter the caves, Liri followed the rest of her pack while keeping close to Sam and simultaneously trying to keep an eye on Tsuki. The newest member would not yet be mated and would have none to look after her besides their Alphas, who would no doubt be more preoccupied.

Hearing Amara's words that they must stick together, Liri nodded subconciously as she pressed closer to her mate. The white wolf didn't believe that her own pack mates would eat her but she felt safer with the huge mass that was Sam by her side.

The group seemed to split apart, moving to different areas of the cave to watch the destruction. Liri chuffed lightly as she nudged Tsuki. "Come on, Blue. Me and Sam will be your buddies."  She gave the woman a kind smile before moving to an empty spot and sitting to watch her home be ruined. Sadness and fear pooled in her chocolate eyes as she bore witness to the wreckage.

Liri spoke towards a wolf Samuel didn't know. He tilted his head after removing the locusts before offering a small smile towards her. He turned his neck to pull of a few more, then moving to Liri and gently pull them off of her beautiful white fur.

He crunched them up, needing them as food since the herds would move on. He looked around to see the rest of his family there with him, watching the horror outside ravage around. He gulped quietly, fearing the end was near.
