Fury looked around a moment, making sure no one was around. The brute then laid on the ground, feet in the air, and rubbed his back on the grass that now showed itself upon the plateau.

The grey male lay, feet still sitting in the air, and daydreamed about traveling with his mother. He let out a slow breath, sleep consuming him slowly as he relaxed for what seemed like the first time ever.

It took quite a lot of effort to crawl up the burrow and poke her head out of the entrance. The spring sunshine felt good on her face, so Pied squeezed out into the open and stood on legs that seemed weak in consideration of her heavily pregnant belly. She swayed, then sat on the slope next to the den's mouth, shifting around to find the position least uncomfortable for her.

As she squinted out into the woods, Pied spotted a small boulder she'd never seen before and wondered if and when it had fallen down the mountain. Only when it moved did she realize it was no large stone; it was a wolf! She blinked, hesitated, then chuffed under her breath in the hopes of snaring its attention.

ooc: HA! A boulder :p

Fury's hazel eyes opened, and he saw a small female staring at him, but she was upside-down. Rolling over, then standing, Fury felt a little awkward being caught off guard in such a way; he'd never taken his attention away from his surroundings before, and decided that it would be best if he didn't again.

With a bored look, Fury gave a short "'Lo" to the petite thing sitting before him. When he noticed her belly, his eyes lit up. "You carry pup as well," he commented.

When the wolf stood up, revealing itself to be a large male, Pied swallowed thickly. When he came closer, he did not seem aggressive in the least, though she didn't relax. She looked closely at his face, noting his almost bored expression. It suddenly lit up when he noticed her protruding flanks.

"Yes," she agreed with a twitch of her lips. Her own face was a little pale (well, paler than usual) and drawn; she was pained and exhausted. "Believe it or not, I still have several weeks left. I'm Pied, by the way," she introduced, taking a deep breath to counterbalance a harsh kick from inside her that left her feeling a little winded.

Fury's eyes were hard to pull away from her belly, but he did so anyway. "Fury." He returned her name with his own.

Sensing something was off, Fury took a step forward and pointed his nose toward her stomach. "Is okay?" He asked, wondering if it was a tough pregnancy. His mother had tended to many bed-ridden wolves in the past while he had either watched, or, rarely, assisted.

When he moved nearer, she shifted away slightly, not comfortable with his proximity. She didn't say anything, though she shot him a gentle look of warning. She was tired, hormonal and didn't want a stranger crowding her, even if he meant well.

"Yes," she said a little breathlessly, "everything's fine. I'm just having a bit of a hard time with the pregnancy. I'm small to begin with and then I was injured just prior to conceiving, so it's a little trying. It's worth it, though," she added with a careworn smile.

Fury nodded. "Blue Willow have you try any red raspberry leaf?" The grey male used his knowledge from when his mother would help with pregnancies, though he didn't know if it would help much since this didn't seem like an area to contain the herb he spoke of.

Looking at Pied, Fury felt nervous and uneasy (not something he felt often). He got a bad feeling about her pregnancy. "Want I should help you to den? Rest is better."

Her ears quivered at the mention of the pack's Healer. "I... think so," she answered. "She's given me a few samples of herbs to take. I remember they all sounded like desserts, so I think that's one of them." A wan smile stretched her lips.

The burrow's entrance was near, so Fury's offer seemed unnecessary, but Pied did find herself wanting to retreat down into her den despite having just emerged. "Sure," she answered politely, standing (wobbling very slightly) and tentatively leaning into the gigantic male. "I don't think you're going to fit," she quipped, cocking her head to look up at him sideways.

Pied preceded him, carefully sliding down into the subterranean lair. When she thumped down at the bottom, she hoisted herself onto all fours with a grunt, then slowly pivoted and said, "If you fit, you're welcome to come inside, Fury. I'm going to make myself comfortable and I may fall asleep on you, though."

While she waited for him to wedge himself down the narrow entryway, Pied circled and slowly dropped onto the earthen floor. It took much restless shifting for her to find a comfortable position and even then the word comfortable was relative. Sighing lightly, she let her chin drift onto her paws.
