As he lunged, she braced for impact. She would let him lash out at her, it was her punishment for being foolish. The worst that could happen was death, and sometimes she thought it might be peaceful- to be with mom. He embraced her, and her eyes popped open, tears streaming down in shock. After a few seconds of just standing there in shock, she relaxed, holding him tight with her neck and head. 

I missed you all so much... She whimpered softly.
