@Fang

Fire, it is a strange creature. It come arrives as a small spark and takes over, devouring everything in its paths. Fire doesn't have the ability to show mercy, it takes a life, it claims a family, it grabs everything in its path, incinerating all that once was. Kodokuna knew the power of fire all too well, she had watched it claim her parents lives, eating their hides and bones leaving nothing but ash. She had escaped its wrath that fateful night, but she would never loose the scars on her soul.

Kodokuna stood at the edge of a path that had broken down leaving a steep drop in its place, one paw a little too close to the edge. Pebbles tumbled down every time she breathed. She loved this sense of danger, it reminded her how precious life was, how quickly it could end.

There were no birds chirping, no small animals scurrying, it was just her and the mountains in silence.

ooc: sorry the posts a bit all, over the place.

It was another typical day for the half-breed, he had taken to the highlands. His wandering leading him to an overlook of rocks and dirt. Still new to the Teekon wilds he did his best to avoid the larger gatherings and parklands. A task that was growing increasingly difficult as he ventured.

Fang, having learnt that many of the inhabitants borders were protected fiercely, did his best to stay aware of any that were nearby. It wasn't long before a slight crunch of rocks shifting, tumbling downhill caught his attention. Ever the curious he ventured towards the only source of sound nearby.

As he came upon the source of the noise, he took a moment to realise what he was looking at. Two wolves? One wolf? He couldn't quite figure it out at first, after the initial shock he realised this creature was standing dangerously close to the edge.

"Uhh, there's a cliff there you know." he called out, almost immediately he thought to himself oh shit, what if they fall another step was made toward them.

Kodo jumped slightly, nearly slipping but she threw herself back, tumbling toward the stranger. She stayed on the ground, heart pounding at the idea of nearly falling to her death.
The she-wolf stood up shakily and shook the dirt off her pelt. She turned to face the one who intruded on her peaceful evening. Her tail tucked slightly as she watched the stranger advance, who was he and what did he want with her?

An even better question rose, why was he on pack lands? He didn't smell of any packs she knew. Loners didn't come to these parts of the mountain, they were too dangerous, but then again she was new to the region and she was here.

As the oddity before him reacted, his breath caught in his throat, a relieved sigh escaping as she moved away from the edge. A slight tilt of his head as she moved toward him was followed by a sniff on the air. The scent was familiar though not strong. He want entirely aware of all the locals, yet.
Again he was caught by the strangeness of this two toned wolf, not that he was in a position to judge, he was however curious.

"So what's your story, lay on your side in the sun for too long?" he questioned, his tone being one of humour rather than condescending.
His tail gave a gentle side to side flick as he observed. His golden eyes lookin the female over as he tried to figure out what it was he was actually looking at.

Kodo growled and glared at the male. "Very funny." She snipped walking over to a shaded spot under a large tree. "I was born this way, are you always so rude? Sneaking up on people, making a joke of how they look?" she asked with a barely noticeable smile placed upon her face. She had time to talk to a loner today, in fact time was all she had.

Fang stood his ground, the casual flick off his tail the only reaction to the females words. A coy half smile crossed his maw as she ventured to a nearby tree. Lowering himself to his haunches he offered a slight shrug.

"Only on alternate days, or when someone's hanging over a precipice." there was a slight twinge in his mind at her questioning over looks.
"I'm probably not one to call attention to looks though I guess. ..so what is a creature such as yourself doing here?" possibly a poor choice of words, despite his sincerity.

Kodo rolled her eyes and yawned. "I like the quiet here, few of my pack members come to this spot." She replied lazily. Her ears stood perked as she listened to the wind rustle the trees, creating a music like sound. She stood up and paced back and forth, restless now that her silence had been disturbed by the unfamiliar. "I am Kodokuna of The Sunspire pack." She offered, waiting for him to introduce himself.

kodokuna he repeated her name to himself, Sunspires? He was unaware of the details of that pack, but that wasn't saying much.
"Kodokuna of the Sunspire, I'm Fang of no particular place or pack." he offered a dip of his head, a half attempted introductory bow.

He gave a quick look around, he hadn't take the time to admire their current locale, but had to admit it was peaceful, to a degree. His attention returned to Kodo.

"Are you avoiding your pack for a reason?"
So far the pack wolves he'd come across travelled alone only when they were on patrol.

"I'm not avoiding them, I just enjoy spending time alone, I am new to pack life, it can be a bit...much." She huffed stopping to sniff at the trail of a long gone squirrel. She sat back in her shady spot under the tree, waiting to see what the loner male might do.

ooc: sorry for the delay, been a bit busy.

New to pack life, and its a bit much, why get in on that? He couldn't help but feel this was an odd explanation. He offered an exaggerated bow.
Well kodokuna of the sunspire pack, don't allow me to interrupt your alone time."
With that he turned and made his way a short distant before stopping, taking interest in A nearby plant, more waiting to see if Kodo would react to his attempted exit.
He was at the very least intrigued about this she-wolf. However if she wanted quiet time he wasn't going to Impose any further.

"You don't have to go...Fang" Kodo offered when the male stopped. She wouldn't mind a little company now, she was after all no longer such a loner. She said his name sweetly as if she was personally inviting him to spend time with her...which she was.

Fang did his best to look interested in nothing in particular, he was once more struck by the mixed attitude he was receiving. Continuing to feign interest in nothing he gave a casual glance back toward the female. The tone of her voice not lost on him.
And what of your pack, they won't have something to say about you spending your idle time with some half-breed lone? He was genuinely concerned about this, he was new to the region and didn't need unnecessary attention.
He gaze lingered on Kodo. Still not certain what to make of. The situation

"They don't seem to mind as long as I pull my weight with fishing." She replied with a small shrug. She sometimes wondered why they allowed her to go off and talk to all the loners of the area, perhaps they expected her to recruit them. She just wanted a friend. Kodo looked over to Fang and gave another small smile.

Fishing, hey? A forced look of unpleasantness spread over his face at the mention of fishing. "You can keep that job."
His distaste for fish was more aggravated by his inability to fish than by his actual dislike of the food.

He kept his position, a short way from female, his gaze remaining fixed on her whilst he continued.
"So where exactly does a Kodo come from, I've never seen anything like. ..well, like you before." genuine curiosity aired his tone as he waited for her response.

"I don't know really..." Kodo muttered and looked down at herself. Where did something like her come from? A mythical realm perhaps. It could be she was one of the changelings of legend, a replacement for the pup that should have been. Kodokuna shifted uncomfortably under his gaze, becoming more and more self-conscious.

I don't really know. Her words sunk in as she looked at herself, a slight frown presented itself across Fang's features. Slowly he returned his gaze to the nondescript plant he was previously observing with a light sigh.
His thoughts returned to the situation. He was still more than a little confused at this creature, being alone, wanting company, avoiding their pack, whilst not avoiding it.

He found himself sitting in silence for a short while a quick glance back to Kodo to see how she was taking the silence before returning his gaze to nothing in particular.
For once in his life he decided to just sit quietly.

Kodo wondered if she should break the silence but decided against it. She peeked over to Fang who gazed intently upon a plant. Kodokuna wondered if it was the plant he was watching, or if he was just attempting not to watch her. Her gaze returned down as she wondered if she had detured him completely.

oh look, a caterpillar. he continued to watch this little insect slowly devour a leaf in front of him. How strange it felt to be watching this chubby little worm eat through a plant. Time was slowly passing as he watched, he wasn't a very good judge of time, but he felt as though quite a lot had been spent watching this little leaf.

In reality it was probably no longer than five minutes before he shifted about. Having almost forgotten the existence of Kodo he felt a small jolt of surprise when he looked back over toward her.
"Do you suppose plants feel themselves being eaten?"
He thought on his question for a moment before continuing.
"I guess that means they'd feel me stepping on them, an marking on them. ..wow, that'd be pretty awful." a look of genuine concern visible on his face as he thought of the potential hell plants would be in if they were capable of feeling.

sorry this is short I'm on my phone

Kodo shook her.head. "I think they don't mind, things tend to accept their purpose. Even a leaf. He nourishes the bugs that nourish the smaller animals that we eat. " she said. There was a circle to things in life " and when we die, we nourish the plants with our bodies. Its a equal exchange.". Kodo looked over to Fang and smiled.

I'm slapping a bow on this thread, haven't got a lot to work with, sorry!

His words swirled around his head, suddenly trapped in thinking how terrible it must be to feel yourself being eaten, he barely acknowledged the females words. Hearing them he nevertheless continued following his train of thoughts until the mention of death.
Realising she had been giving an explanation in the circle of life, he shrugged a little at her words.

"I don't think I like the idea of plants feeding on me when I die" a look as though he just ate something sour spread over his features. He still found himself uncertain of what to make of this creature here, a soft sigh escaped before he spoke, rising from his sitting position.
"Well, Kodokuna, I'm going to find some poor small animal for nourishment, I'm sure I'll see you around." and with that he was off, moving swiftly through the nearby growth of trees, presumably leaving the female to her own business.
