All Welcome
@Ford hi :)

perhaps iliksis was stupid to approach the guarded borders of the rift, but being rather haggard and tired of the footsore life of a loner, he was ready for some change. rosings had been a bust -- and try as he did to find addison in the aftermath, iliksis' pursuits were all in vain.

he had not forgotten the liver woman, but if he was to best her and eventually overcome her, he had to be hale. as it was, he was a shade above wiry and bedraggled. he presently looked just rough enough that anyone in the vicinity would know he would not be an easy target, yet all the same, his slab-sided and poking ribs told a story of long and harrowing bouts of starvation as of late.

he paused at the cusp of the rocky shore's borders and tipped back his head. a quiet howl filtered into the wind, requesting the presence of any soul that was near.

this is the shittiest post.

The call was heard, and the titan removed himself from the waters swiftly. He made his way to the shore and shook the sea from his dark coat. His limbs became peppered with sand as he trotted toward where the summons had come from. As he approached, he narrowed his eyes on the figure who waited. The dark stranger seemed to have lived through some difficult times. Ford was no stranger to hardship, but he had never seen a wolf so malnourished. There was a hesitancy in his approach, but only for a moment. All of them were capable of moving beyond their limits, he reminded himself.

“How might I help you?” the warhound inquired in a smoky voice. His eyes were calculating as he looked on the other male. Surely, this wolf would seek a place within their ranks. If he was left on his own for much longer, he would likely wither away.

nonsense u hush
a male many times iliksis' superior approached, his broad limbs flecked with sand and his gait loose. he was hale, vigorous -- iliksis averted his gaze as he felt ford's narrow in focus.

he would play the part of subservient dolt, doll him all up just long enough to recouperate, and then the dybbuk would be on his way, ready to track down the russet bitch that dared think for one second that she was better than him.

iliksis smiled, hoping to put ford at ease. he kept his head lowered, and his tail limp at his ankles. "i seek a pack." iliksis cut to the chase, knowing most did not enjoy it when one danced around the bush. "my pack disbanded. i can offer my skills in return. i hunt, and i am a capable fighter."

For all of the things that Iliksis might have done while wandering the wilds, Ford would never have known. The stranger was unassuming in his own ways. While there seemed to be a glint to his lightless yellow gaze, the titan could only imagine that it had come from his time alone in the world. A beast was only as strong as the pack that stood behind it. While that may have been a very general thought and belief, Ford had seen it demonstrated many times over. He did not wish to think what might have happened to him if he had not had the strength of his numbers to support him. A formidable creature, yes, but his members kept him in line.

We could certainly use another master of the physical arts in our group, the warhound responded with a small nod of his head. The skeletal beast turned his head and peered at the bay with an unreadable expression. He thought to mention that he had grown tired of the members who had come and gone from his ranks, but decided against it. Come, and I'll give you a tour of the rift, he remarked with a motion of his head. Ford did not wait to see if the brute would follow. He assumed that the man would follow or risk being left behind.

was it always this easy, duping wolves into believing his worth? iliksis could not help the sneer that split across his features as ford turned away, escorting him into stormrift's reach.

it was a cheerless place, filled with severe people -- iliksis followed behind and played the part of dutiful and appreciative simpleton. once the tour was over he bowed gracefully and found a den, ready to shed this masquerade. stormrift would just be another place to harbor him until he was fat and sleek, and then like tumbleweed, iliksis would drift on.
