it is apparent, now. what she'd done during her heat had been an attempt to rattle the consort, to slip higher up the ranks. it had been for nothing. some whelp had killed the male she'd followed here in the first place, taking his position and gone uncontested. the place had lost its appeal, and there was nothing to be gained here. 

and now she is trapped. the silver stalks the borderline, wanting to slip out into the open and vanish back from whence she'd come. but the swell of her sides chains her here, well and truly. there are herbs, ways to end this. if she knew them, she would free herself of the unwanted burden and leave this group of mercenaries behind.
