All Welcome
for @Haoming but AW!

beside the children, huā slept. nüwu awakened again- not by a dream, nor by a nightmare, but simply the desire to know both worlds in their entirely. the world of the mind and the real world. eyes were still shut, but there was feeling. taste came only in her mother's milk and the dull flavor of her own toes which she had already tested thoroughly. not hungry for either now, instead she began to crawl, bumping quietly into another furry lump. curious, she prodded it with the end of her muzzle, not yet realizing it was one of her siblings.

Just the one post for Luli, carry on without her.  :)

Warmth. It was her primary source of comfort, and little Luli sought it often. Unable to feed as vigorously as her siblings, the tiniest of the Empress' children felt most secure when she was nestled someplace safe.

As Nüwu unknowingly investigated their other sister, Luli turned her attention toward seeking shelter in the small space her mother's forelimbs and beneath her smooth throat. She bumped and nosed until able to squeeze herself into the crevice, and curled up close to snooze.

Haoming was sleeping, which honestly was a rare occurence for the girl. She was usually active, usually snuffling around and trying to explore. At least to the very limits of her puppy body. So when she felt a nose against her side and something attempting to roll her over, Haoming let out a soft growl as she was awakened. The nose against her side was not her mother's, but rather a small one - one of the mounds that feasted alongside her most days. Dappled paws stretched out and her nose turned to bump against her sibling's, vocalizing in whines and grumbles even if the other pup couldn't hear.

no noise was heard, but the rumble of the body was felt. vibrations which coursed from her flesh towards nüwu's- the girl shivered at the odd sensation. the reaction was a grunt of her own- only known by the vibration of the vocal chords in her throat which told her she had done something. two deaf creatures who communicated in their unknown chatter. then came the touch of another cold wet surface not unlike her own. nüwu stiffened, then stumbled back with slight surprise. the desire to learn overwhelmed her, however, and she came forward again, this time with her charcoal paws heading the exploration before her snout.

It was just one of the fuzzies that were like Haoming. The girl could not think in complexities, of course, but she did understand a sense of likeness that came with the touching of this other creature. Paws stretched out and her nose moved forward as she unknowingly chased the little creature, not wanting her to get away. Ever the emboldened adventurer, Haoming pressed forward, only hesitating slightly when she felt other toes - like her own! - tap against her shoulder.

A mmrrrp! sound escaped her, and she nuzzled up against the other little body, eager to learn and explore.

a physical mirror, her own reflection- when nüwu stumbled back, the companion came forward eagerly, filling the space that the sandy child had just emptied. her paws touched something soft, and she curiously pressed forward. the thing vibrated some more against her, curling in close- and nüwu appreciated the feeling which reminded her in ways of her own mother. she snuggled in too, mouth opening now to grab at an ear, wondering if this one had milk to give, too.

Haoming paused for a moment before wriggling closer, eager to explore and navigate this newfound being she'd run into. How odd - a small, fuzzy thing like herself. There was no concept of number for the child yet, so she wouldn't know for a while that there were three other siblings that she had. For now it was just herself and this one.

The child felt something wet on her ear and let out a shrill, angry cry, exaggeratedly loud and outraged. How dare this thing wet her ear!

the thing seemed to react to her hungering- vibrating suddenly in a way that nüwu found disturbing. She promptly released the rather dull-tasting thing, spitting onto the earth and tumbling backward suddenly. no more messing with this strange creature if it was going to bother her so. she would rather stick to herself on the opposite end of the den.

The wetter of her ear had backed off for now, no doubt shaking in fear of Haoming's mighty cry. The spotted girl was suddenly free of the nuisance, and while she would grow to adore her sister, she was (for now at least) glad to be rid of her. So she curled back up, took a deep breath, and fell asleep.
