The two surveyed one another, Calhoun's hard ruby gaze meeting his own for a moment as he snapped back. He let the remark slide with a casual ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ of his shoulders, unbothered for now. They both had been through a rough few days, it was understandable for the boy to be on edge. Besides, most of his nephews seemed to have a bit of an attitude; must be a Déorwine thing (not that Brewster himself thought he had ever been such a brat in his younger days).
"I have not," he answered after a pause, casting his eyes out over the horizon, for a moment growing sombre as he murmured, "it all happened so suddenly, I'm surprised I even found one of you lot." Suddenly, he turned to Calhoun. "And you? Have you seen any signs of the High Elk?"
