homage? vex repeats; testing the word out on his tongue. it sounds sophisticated and …suspicious. like …paying respect maybe? he attempts to puzzle out, just choosing that particular phrase because it used the keyword before it same as her ‘paid homage’. he could be deadass wrong, of course, but there was an inkling, same as his sister’s unspoken one that he probably wasn’t; or it could just be his general arrogance.
