All Welcome
All welcome, but perhaps @Loko as you mentioned wanting a thread? <3

Cerne was on the shore once again, this time looking for seaglass, as he'd not found any on his previous visits. He had a few lovely pieces already — they clinked gently within his hareskin pouch. One was a brilliant bloodred, another seafoam green, and yet another opalescent and shining. He moved along the shore, head bent down — it was frigid, rain barely above freezing already soaking his pelt, but Cerne would not be dissuaded from his work.

loko was cold as he roused crabs from the strands of kelp along the beach. rain fell in a hopeless grey down on them all.

he did not mind; he had plans to visit the cave he'd found after a quick snack, and he could dry off and warm up there.

mid-crunch with a crab danging passively from his teeth, loko spotted a shape on the beach. it was more of a blur, really, what with the rain fizzling and spitting sheets. he moved towards it curiously.

the figure was dark, but gradually small details became clear as loko came close. it bent down along the sand, searching. around its neck hung something curious and interesting to loko.

whut dat be? loko called, wolfing down the crab with several delicious smacks. dat 'ting on your neck?

A voice made Cerne look up, and he peered through the rain to see a young male standing there, finishing off a crab. It made Cerne's own stomach rumble — he didn't recall the last time he'd actually eaten. Perhaps, after this, he would find himself a meal.

Cerne wore two items about his throat, both threaded with rope made of dried seaweed. — one, a magnificent carved rib bone, taken off a seal carcass he'd found over a week ago, and two, his hareskin pouch that contained the items necessary for his bone readings. Not certain which the boy had seen, he called back, "Tools for casting bones, and a protective amulet. Would you like a reading?"

down the boy's gullet the crab went, unceremoniously as it had been cast into the world.

he fixed the seer with a wary eye. the bone was one thing -- he recognized it for a talisman and thought of how sobo had fashioned his own. but the skin.. it was new to him, and something new was immediately met with skepticism and criticism.

what be your cost? loko asked, gaze simmering with mistrust. he wasn't about to agree to a reading if it meant his ass got hexed into the fifteenth dimension.

Cerne shook his head, smiling good-naturedly at the boy. "There is no cost. I merely seek to hone my craft with a set of new tools." All tools needed to be broken in, after all. He took the pouch from his neck and gently untied it. His last reading had not gone well, but he had hope for this next one as he eyed the boy. "What question do you wish to know the answer to? What keeps you up at night?"
