meeting the others had been a little awkward for him even with maia's presence. still, akkuma had tried his best to smile and look like he knew what he was doing. he tried to channel his parents, but he was pretty sure he'd failed horribly.
no matter what he did, he was just himself. and he was pretty underwhelming.
it was tempting to seek out maia for one of those stories, but he felt like it was too soon. he would seem clingy. it was better to wait a little bit. so he circled the outskirts of the territory, picking his way along the northern edge first. he would familiarize himself with the place, and their prey, he decided. and he would not think of home, or his parents, or his brother.

The fact that his parents seemed to adopt just anyone into their fold was a part of Aiden's life. Shenanigans he had accepted without trouble — perhaps because Chickadee instantly wrapped herself around Ani. This new one, though, Aiden had met with some scrutiny. Perhaps it was because it was a guy as well. Or perhaps it was because they were all a little older now than when Shenanigans had joined them. It wasn't like Akkuma was a part of their family in the same way that Ani was; just of the family that was Brecheliant.

Aiden hadn't paid the newcomer much thought since their initial meeting, where he had simply said hi. He hadn't given him much thought at all actually until Aiden met up with him along the northern border. It was one of Aiden's favourite places to patrol because he could look outside the territory and dream of what was out there. He was headed the opposite direction of Akkuma, and instantly raised his body alertly when he noticed Brecheliant's newest member.

As he approached, Aiden's body was dominant; his head was carried proudly and his tail was held high. His body clearly asked for signs of submission from Akkuma upon his approach, and Aiden chuffed a greeting as he drew nearer.
