All Welcome
Maybe @Iseult or @Makan? :)

There had been voices in their communal song that he had not recognized; so now Goliad was on the hunt. He knew this would be an easier job than any tracking of game, because the wolves would not want to hide. He was eager to encounter those that Ulrich allowed upon his land - to learn how they had come here, and what motivated them to stay.
He found two scents quickly enough which were not the leader or his wife; they diverged along the riverside, with one heading upriver and the other downriver. Goliad was undecided which path to take and so he looked heavenward and - sparing a glance around at the trees in case someone might see him - spun on the spot, enough times to make himself dizzy. Then he struck off in a random direction — upriver.

He was perched upriver, where the water flowed without shards of ice.

He would spend most of his time like this. The days spanned into easier stretches when he made himself useful with fishing. The best news of all was that if this river did not seem bountiful, he would go to the other!

Until his watchful gaze caught the soft shimmering colors of one who was not aquatic.

His tail waved behind him and dull blue eyes seemed to sparkle with warmth.

A man slithered alongside the ferns, materializing - to Goliad's perception - out of the murk alongside the water. Being deep within Ulrich's lands meant any wolves this far in had to have been friends; but all Goliad could smell upon the man were notes of the fernbed, the crisp water, and fish. He did not think to be nervous even as Goliad approached the stranger.
He had a nice energy about him.
Er, hello. Goliad wasn't so great at this meeting-people thing all the time.

Ah, but he could not speak back!

Still Makan had learned that he could make soft sounds back. Often times muffled and oddly pitched, but when paired with body language? Well, he had less worries.

So he offered a low, muffled boof of greeting back as his body wiggled slightly. Crouched for a moment as the corner of his eyes wrinkled.

He sought to sniff the air around the sandy male.

They could greet each other this way, and then carry about their day. Together or seperate. It mattered naught to Makan.
