I'm going to go ahead and write out a conclusion for this for us, if there's any objections, drop me a PM!

Surprisingly, the wolves were willing to share their food. At least he could speak decently of the leader, though his subordinates were quick to argue against it. One such wolf was set off to retrieve something for them and so they waited. And they would not have to wait longer either, for when the food came and was sent in their direction, Twister hastily picked it up with the aid of the others.

And the dogs made good of their word — they would leave these wolves alone in exchange. Whatever information they imparted to them, it was worth hanging onto, but for now the plan was merely to feast somewhere well out of their watching eyes. If nothing else, the wolves of the mountain were of a smarter breed than those he had encountered thus far, choosing to put their kindness ahead of them instead of pride.
