Once again Bambi found herself at the outskirts of Neverwinter Forest, eager to scout out the borders and familiarize herself with them as best she could. She had kept relatively quiet since joining the pack’s ranks, as her focus had been on regaining the strength and energy she’d lost during her travels. The slender she-wolf had put on a bit of weight again, and her spirits had been lifted somewhat. She had high hopes that she could succeed since her vigor had returned.

The midday sun peeked through the thick coniferous treetops, illuminating Bambi’s pale figure whenever she passed through the occasional patches of light that found their way to the forest floor. Her pace was deliberate, cautious almost as she picked her way along the borders. Snowy audits pressed forward attentively atop her head while her eyes scoured the landscape. Leathery nostrils flared as the scent of a rabbit reached them, and Bambi felt her mouth begin to water. Perhaps a small hunt was on the agenda for that day.
