As a puppy, Cedar had a rough life. His mother had died giving birth to her pups and his father was nowhere to be found. Little Cedar and his one sister, Minx, was taken in by another one of his Packmates (name unidentified). When he was a pup, everyone had made fun of him because of his small size, which really beat him down. Everyday, he tried to be the 'top dog' he always knew he could be, but it just wasn't enough to spark the other wolves interest. He was always beaten down and told that he could never accomplish being a true wolf. At the time, Cedar didn't believe he was part coyote, because no one had ever told him his family heritage. One day, his foster mother had confessed he wasn't pure wolf, and explained why the others had made fun of him so much. At first he refused to believe her, but after awhile he had to face the fact that he was part coyote. But this upset him so much that he one day told his sister Minx to go smear fox blood all over his den and tell everyone that a wild dog had killed him. That night he ran away, and never came home.

Back in present, he cannot stand to be alone and desperately searches for a Pack of his own.
