Born as the result of a tryst between equally flighty parents, Emrys grew up seeing snatches of both of them but was largely raised by older siblings and a domineering aunt. As a youngster he was quiet and meek, traits which were only further ingrained by the bolder personalities of those around him. He found solace in learning, and sought to learn as much as he could about – well, everything.
Eventually he parted ways with his family and began to travel. He managed to settle once, but a fling with a member of a rival pack resulted in children, and he was ousted from the pack. When it turned out his romantic partner had found someone else, Emrys - to his great shame - took flight like his parents before him, vowing to strive for knowledge above attachments to others.
