Born in early Spring to incumbent Praetor Vespasian Attius Nero (second son of Cassius Attius Nero and Helena) and his wife, Junia Vitellius Novis. He grew up under the strict tutelage of his father as well as the subordinates of his unit and was constantly grilled on history, tactics, and physical prowess. Friendships were formed out of necessity and as a result Timaeus grew up to be extremely reserved when it comes to expressing his true emotions.

He was promoted to a rank within his uncle's unit and sent out on many skirmish parties. He did not experience his first fairly matched fight until early Winter, where a party of southern valley wolves took them by surprise while on a scouting patrol. He was nearly strangled to death by a particularly experienced enemy but saved by a fellow in his band, Marius, who died defending the unconscious Timeaus.

Timaeus did not stay with the Pass long after that. As winter came to a head, he departed the mountain in secret and left his family behind in search of better tidings and peaceful pursuits elsewhere.
