Espen was born just outside of the Rocky Mountains near a smaller range known as the Dorne Mountains. She grew up with only brothers, all much larger than her, so very quickly she had to learn how to live in a world of brutes. She was normally always by herself, whether it would be to escape her brothers or escape the whispers of others who were envious of her, regardless of what she ever said. or did. This probably administered to her devious relations with most other wolves. However, her mother always had a soft spot for her. And when they were alone, Espen could finally relax and feel safe. Her mother was complete opposite in appearance, in that she was jet black with black eyes. But she also was known for her beauty. Espen learned how to carry herself due to her mother, but when her mother suddenly disappeared Espen never was able to fully reconsile with it. Most believed she was dead, but Espen couldn't come to those conclusions. Her mother had always told her to be weary of relations with others, that wolves always had an agenda. But the thing that stuck with Espen the most, was her mother told her that true emotion could always be revealed through eyes, so if she had fear, to never let them look into her own. Espen took this advice very seriously and it led to her separation of the pack, she never trusted any of them anyways and she felt at ease on her own.
