All Welcome
aw but @Potema if possible <3
located at namira's mire
radiant quest: hitting the books

in the hours that followed what had transpired at the temple, relmyna wandered, the stone held in her mouth. its cold skin soon gave way to heat that pleasantly warmed her lips, and she was loathe to put it down. she did not know what had come over her, nor what to make of it — energies still racked her as she trotted toward one of the more loathsome features of the wood. and yet she was not repulsed when she came upon the icy bog.
setting down her stone where she could see it, relmyna moved into the reek of the swamp, feeling the sluggish, sickly torpor that had settled over the area. and while she could hear no creatures currently, the keenness of her nostrils announced to the woman that there was life here indeed.
having surrendered herself to whatever odd whims would take her, relmyna wandered around the edges of the swamp, brushing her muzzle against whatever strange plants grew from beneath the snow, and always keeping in sight of the rock that spoke, as she had come to call it.

She had not been in the swamps since her fateful encounter with Sheogorath. She still shuddered as she approached the now frozen Mire, remembering the violation clearly, as if the mottled body was on her now, wrapped around her and whispering sickly sweet things into her ears.

Potema shook herself, her body gaunt and listless even after ending her poppy consumption for weeks now. The white witch strode into the swamp, letting the filth embrace her, sloshing through the muck.

relmyna had not gone far before awareness of another entered her senses, led by the splashing of swampwater. quietly, the girl crept 'round the bole of one tree and laid her eyes upon the fierce vision of one she had not yet met. however, this wolf was of importance; relmyna knew most the names of her fellows, but she did not wish to guess and be incorrect. she was most drawn by the other's red mark, the dye along her cheek, the scars.
relmyna drew closer, and too stepped into the dire waters, wincing a little at the cold but straightening, hoping to glean the attention of the woman she knew to be powerful. and though fear lanced through her heart, the evoker was struck after by an eldritch calm.

Potema sloshed through the muck until she found a solid island in the Mire. Her pale fur was stained by the movement, the brown muck attaching to her body and clinging, creating socks that mimicked that of her daughter's. She didn't notice the resemblance, either out of forced unconsciousness or forgetting the fact that Maegi was her own.

From her raised position she was able to look down at the second pale woman, with black marks around her eyes and heavy along her back in a saddle. I've seen you before, but I've never met you, She murmurs, starting to approach Relmyra.

the voice as it came swept the mute evoker into a tingling warmth that opened her heart and caused her breath to pound. seeking calm, relmyna nodded; she knew potema only by name. slowly the patchwork woman lifted her eyes to potema's fierce gaze; on a whim, the woman turned to retrieve the transparent stone she carried, and lay it on the bank on the chance the priestess wished to inspect it. for now, relmyna was merely content to enjoy potema's presence, though her worry grew that her inability to speak would aggravate the illustrious woman.

The woman had said nothing in response. Instead she moved. From somewhere she had retrieved a stone and placed it on the banks of the solid island, backing away in what Potema thought was an invitation for her to see. Potema watched the woman curiously for a moment, then turned her attention to the stone.

It was transparent, like ice, but had maintained its shape. The witch had heard of such a stone before. Quartz was its real name, but it had others: Witch's Mirror, Star Stone. It was thought to absorb and conduct energy. She had never been the type to use stones in her practices, preferring the use of herbs and other plantlife, but she had known witches to use it.

Where did you find this? Potema locked her eye with the woman, wondering if she could indeed speak or was too caught up in her discovery to talk. Excitement burned inside the singular sapphire. It's very powerful, She nudged it with her paw and could feel the static radiating off of it.

idk if this was what you were going with but it's how potema is interpreting it! : http://www.witchipedia.com/mineral:quartz

i hadn't yet but omg! that's perfect, now that the connection's been made lol

relmyna stood firm, rejecting her body's unwanted suggestion that she step back from the approaching priestess. the scent of the mud that thickly smeared potema's pelt filled her nostrils, brown and vegetative. potema seemed quite thrilled with the find, and the evoker's ears splayed as she ducked her muzzle shyly beneath the other's questioning.
searching for a way to convey where she had found the stone, relmyna glanced back along one shoulder and motioned with a nod toward the borders. she had not found it here, after all. to the other statement, the pale wolfess touched its opaque surface lightly with her own foot, nodding as she too felt the thrumming.
she answered the remainder of potema's words as best she could, and withdrew with her mind thrumming, heart leaping from the experience of being near to such a powerful being.
