All Welcome
All welcome, but it's @Aiolos she would like to talk too. I will send Rodyn in this thread to help if I must.

Ajei set out in the morning with a beaver fur of fish and soft fats. She was looking for the father of Arrluk for she had a favor of him.

Though there was no husband price. Ajei had determined that she wanted Arrluk to have his own furs to lay upon. Ones that she hunted. The problem being that she was not a great hunter like her mother. Though she dearly wished she was.

So she would find Sun Man and ask him to help her hunt a deer or two. Because Arrluk was large. And heart brother Rodyn would probably help too.

This served two fold. As it would be a nice gift for her dearest and yet also keep her paws busy so she did not fret after him.

We can have Rodyn noted in the bg if you'd like!

Aiolos had rest often and much during the winter season. If he were a bear, he would have been quite content to sleep the entire thing away. He had never mind the cold before. When he lived on the island north-east, this season had been quite harsher. Still, his age was not something easily missed between stiff movements and greying furs.

His yawn is a deep one, as he lay half in-half out of the ulaq, soaking up the sun into the red of his pelt. His nose began to twitch, the scent of fish and fat easing him into awaking. Ajei... He greets, batting the tiredness from his eyes as he lifted his head up off his forelegs to see her. Bringing snacks?

Works for me.

Ajei understood better than most how those that aged slept. And though Kukutux and Aiolos didn't worry her yet. She knew eventually. And that broke her heart.

She placed the items down and met him with a happy look.

Hello Sun Man!

A small smile. And a blink of green eyes. I bring snacks to ask for a favor. I.

She took a deep breath and steeled her resolve. She was not a wolf that did many things that were out of her comfort zone. She was anxious and shy. But she did not think there was ever anything she would not do for the ember of her heart. Without Arrluk. The world was not worth it. And she could brave the scariest things for him.

Arrluk will go out and hunt for a bride price. But frankly I would take him without one. But I realize the true meaning of it. I understand. And I want to hunt a deer for him or two. I want him to have a soft place for rest in the place we will call home. But I need help, and I was hoping you'd be so kind.

A soft delicate trace in the dirt as she said her piece. A flickering of nervousness in the green of her gaze. But also resolve.

Oh? The old leader peaked, ears raised as he lifted himself up into a sit and began to sniff at the bundle presented to him. Fish and fat. She was a woman after his own heart, then.

As Ajei began to speak, Aiolos was content to listen as he nosed out and munched on a bit of breakfast.

Ajei spoke truly and her eyes indicated that while she might be nervous to ask for the help or even for the hunt itself, there was a sureness in her want to do this. A husband-price. How very interesting!

Aiolos grins after a licking of his maw and nods. If this is what you wish to do, I will not object you. Your want to work hard for him is just as much important as his want to work hard for you. Your a good woman to my son, Ajei. Standing and shaking out his pelt, he stretches and begins swaggering out from the ulaq.

Come - we will not return home until we have our price.

Ajei was not a brave creature by any means. And she usually stayed to the background of most everything. Which was how she preferred it. However, this gave her a unique perspective to be able to observe. And as such she knew much about the wolves around her. The things they liked and what they did in their spare time.

Aiolos enjoyed his breakfast and shes poke. Unhurried and as clearly as she could. After all this was a big ask and he had a right to tell her now. She doubted very much that he would, but he could if he so wanted.

A smile of delight. Oh thank you Sun Man.

She followed behind him. Though she made sure to stash the snack for him later. Nose to the ground. She followed and kept an eye out for their quarry.

From the Moonwoman's ulaq they traveled northwest. Towards the river which spilt into the lake at the center of their land. They would follow this river upstream where they would seek a break in the low mountains of their home and along the outskirts of the Deepwood forest beyond.

While trailing along the river beforehand, he turned to Ajei to make sure she was well along their path. It is good to have you both back. He spoke. How did you take to the high mountains? Much more intimidating then our own. He says with a smile. Thankfully so. Aiolos was used to sand and soft earth, not hardened stone and ice.

She followed towards the river lake. Upstream. Mountains. She traced each footfall with a smile. It was nice to travel the trails her mother had.

It is good to be back. I didn't mind it. But the spear is colder than monglow. Both woth the air and the wolves therein. I mean no offense amd they treated us well, but it was not the same as home.

Hardy mountains make for hardy wolves. He speaks with a toothy grin, allowing Ajei to know that he took no offense to her discription of the wolves who claimed the high mountain. Moonspear had no rivals other then perhaps a peak or two along the Sunspire mountain ranges beyond the wilderness here and flatlands there after. Long ago, he had lived in a deep valley within those mountains. That was where he had met @Kukutux, so very long ago now.

Will you remain, after you and Arrluk wed? Or do you seek to form your own village? Many had attempted to do this. Some had failed. Some had left before they had wed and may have made settlements elsewhere far beyond this place. It was hard to tell which path the newest pairing would choose.

Ajei chuckled and nodded. It was true. She knew that. She had enjoyed her time at teh spear, but she was glad to be home as well. In a big way. The spear had been breathtaking in the early mornings though. That was certainly true.

I will talk to Arrluk about that. But I Think we both wish to stay here. But that is a conversation to have.

She was not sure what designs Arrluk had on leadership or moving. But she did know they were both sort of homebodies.

You both have many years ahead of you. Many places to see and call home.
Both the young couple had suffered much loss already. There was a guilt in Arrluk for not being there. A hero complex creeping in where he felt like he could have done more, done anything. He would hate to think that they both did not enjoy their youth because of fear that when they returned, more would be dead and gone.

He will be happy where there is plenty of water, surely. Then another smile. And wherever you are, of course. Exploration was not much a thing for Ajei. It was rare to have children that were happy with what they had instead of always wanting more.

Ajei knew there was merit to what he said. That yes they had many years. But even in her short years, she had seen how quickly those years passed. How swiftly the seasons changed and wolves aged. Her own mother. She had seen her age astronomically in just a years time.

Ajei did not fear losing those she cared for. Mostly because she tried to care about them. She tried to not have regrets. But she knew that losses weighed heavy on Arrluk. And she would need to see him through many sadness's. For he had a big family.

She laughed. Yes he surely will. I am not one that likes to travel far. But I can do it. And I would if asked.

Aiolos nodded to the young red women's words, a 'hmmm' moving over his lips. His mouth opened, ready for a response when he suddenly stopped and instead rose his nose to the skies. There is deer near.

Their travel had not been long but the wolves had the luck of having their territory situated between not only two lush forests, but open plains for grazing in-between and open land southward too. Many herds of deer came and went through the Great Woodland region.

Aiolos began moving again, yet now his steps quieter, more precise in their direction.

Ajei froze as Aiolos did and swung red head towards where he looked. Green eyes narrowed, nose flaring. They were not far. She felt a bit of trepidation and a small dose of excitement, which was new.

The lands of MOonglow were beautiful and bountiful and Ajei loved that it was so. There was something to be said for the wolves that settled here however, long ago.

She followed in his paw steps. Quiet. Quick.
