Speedy had traveled far this time. Initially, she was using exploring to take her mind off of her friend leaving, but when she got close enough to the ocean to smell the salt and brine of the sea, she had kept moving, curious about where the scent would lead her.

When her paws touched the soft sand of the secluded beach, she stopped and marveled at the feel. The sand back home was very different, and she had certainly never seen the ocean before; she had heard of it but had never actually seen the beauty for herself.

She padded softly towards the water until her paws were submerged in the icy liquid. She decided that was as far as she was going in, since she wasn't a fan of swimming, and then lifted her nose in the air to take in the scents of this new area as the breeze moved through her sandy fur.

The heat of the day was not easily felt due to the whipping wind of the ocean. The flat water carrying harsh winds onto land. Armor was not a fan of the wind, nor the ocean. It was an endless watery grave, wrapped in stinging salt that drained the life of land dwellers. But alas Heda had found a home on the cliffs upon, as so Armor had to live with the death trap waiting to happen.

Today he had decided to stretch his legs, tapping into his scouting skills Armor had made his way dow to the coast, away from the jagged cliffs. The rest of the pack was so enthralled with the pups, that he had found himself often on his own. None would miss his leaving for a few hours. He had spent the better part of the day, basking in the sun on the soft sand. It wasn't until the end of his visit that he was disturbed. The scent of another hanging in the air. Lifting his head lazily from the sand to peer at the lady.

"Can't I just have an afternoon of peace." He sighed. She could probably hear him, but Armor didn't particularily care. He made no attempt to rise, not wanting to reveal his injury.

Startled, his words made Speedy quickly turn her head. He had been downwind and so, she had not picked up his scent. Once again, she was not paying attention to her surroundings and was caught off guard. Damn. By his statement, The male seemed surly, too, so naturally, Speedy was going to talk to him.

She turned and trotted over to the agouti male, stopping a short distance away just in case. "Hey, sunshine," she said, giving him a friendly smile and hoping to lighten the mood.

Armor couldn't help but roll his yes at the overly happy girl. "Do I look like sunshine to you?" The man asked the question in all seriousness, despite the possibility of it being a joke. He remain prone on the sandy shore. "What kind of person talks to strangers anyway?" He gave her a critical eye, not to sure what kind of girl she might be. "Maybe a lady of the night?" Although it wasn't night, it was getting close as the end of the day neared. This statement was honestly just to rile the lady up, although he tried to keep the smile off his face.

Speedy grinned at the stranger. "No, you're clearly quite the opposite. Have you heard of sarcasm?" She shook her head before answering his next question. "And friendly people talk to strangers," she said putting an exaggerated emphasis on the word 'friendly' as if he were slow.

She laughed at his last comment. "A lady of the night? Who says it like that?" She asked still laughing. Were there even wolf prostitutes? Anything was possible. She was not one, however. She eyed him curiously for a minute  "What are you trying to imply?" Speedy asked, giving him a teasing glare.

Armor nodded slowly, "Sarcasim. I have heard of it. Not a fan personally." He couldn't stop the sly smile that made it way onto his face. Obviously he had heard of sarcasim, he was king of sarcasim! "Overly friendly." He corrected, although what would he know. He wasn't a friendly person.

"Lot's of people of decent social standing call them ladies of the night." He spoke as if it was the most obvious thing in the world, "Obviously I am not in decent company." The slight roast warmed Armor's heart. He didn't actually want to hurt her feelings, but she seemed like the type of girl to take some lighthearted abuse(?). "You know what I'm trying to imply." Armor gave her a wink to emphasize his point. "Although I'm not in need of such services tonight. Thanks for the offer."

She laughed again at his correction. She was overly friendly, she'd give him that. When he teased that she wasn't decent she gave him a playful glare again. "I think you have that backwards. Only people who aren't decent say things like that to sweet, pretty girls," she replied, raising a challenging eyebrow at the snarky male.

"I bet you aren't," Speedy replied rolling her eyes in disbelief, "I'm sure you're winning personality gets you lots of girls," she added laughing a little. "Besides, if I was a lady of the night, you wouldn't be able to afford me."

Sweet, pretty girl? She seemed more like a snarky, beautiful woman, who was quickly endearing herself to him with her quick wit. "I think you'd be surprised how many woman are attracted to my quick tongue." Waggling his eyebrow as the woman, Armor appreciated the banter between them, "Maybe not, but once we were finished you would be paying me." He added with his own laugh.

"Armor." He offered, slowly rising to a seated position, keeping his lame leg hidden a little longer. He had found that many were not as fun once his disability was revealed.

Speedy grinned at the agouti male. "I sure would be," she said, nodding and smirking.

"Hah! I'll believe that when I see it," she replied giving him a suggestive smile. Speedy did really like her men snarky; It kept things interesting, and this guy seemed well versed in the art of sarcasm.

She smiled when he finally introduced himself, and as he moved to sitting position, she noticed just how handsome he actually was. She had to try really hard to keep her eyes from scanning over him more than was appropriate. "I'm Speedy" she offered with a slight wag of her tail.

"Let me know when you are ready to be blown away." He wasn't sure he could actually live up to his own boasting, but it was fun to pretend for the moment. "Well I won't say it's a pleasure but..." He gave her a dashing, amused grin. He had definietly found his witty equal in Speedy, and it was good to banter with someone again. Everyone here took him to seriously. "What brings you down here sweet heart? Like I said before, it's a death trap waiting to happen." He gave his head a flick, indicating the ocean to their right.

Armor wasn't ashamed to admire her figure and looks. He knew how to appreciate that beauty in everyone he met, even if it didn't seem like it. Despite the direction their conversation had taken, the brute wasn't one for meaningless flings. He was at heart a gentleman, and knew how and when to treat a woman right.

"Oh, I will," Speedy replied, winking. She was kind of a free spirit when it came to encounters, although she hadn't been with anyone in a while other than harmless flirting. She was usually too busy exploring and such. "Well, I'll say it; It's a pleasure to meet you, Armor." She gave him a polite bow of her head with her words.

A shy smile crossed her face at the word 'sweetheart' because she didn't think she had been called that in a long time. It made her cheeks heat a little, but she quickly dismissed it, not wanting to embarrass herself. "Well, I kind of just wander around, although I never come quite this far. I caught the scent of the ocean and was drawn to it, I guess." She shrugged a little with her statement. She kind of just went wherever she wanted to, especially lately, venturing back to her friend in the flatlands to occasionally check in.

Speedy looked out to the water. "What's so dangerous about it?" she asked lifting her head towards the mass of blue to indicate that she was referring to the sea.

Looking at the woman seriously, "What isn't dangerous about it. If you swim to far you die. If you drink to much, you die. The creatures within will kill you. The storms it unleashes will kill you. Everything to do with that giant blue blob WILL kill you, if you let it." Armor shrugged of his morbid statement. He wasn't in danger of getting killed by the salty water, so it didn't really apply to him. Besides he had done his part, warning the lovely girl of what could happen, his conscience was clear.

"It is pretty though." Armor didn't spare the water much of a glance, instead he kept his gaze on Speedy. Clearly his statement wasn't meant for the body of liquid. "Even if she does bite." He clasped his jaws together, emphasizing his point with the click of his teeth.

It did sound pretty dangerous, she thought as she listened to his reasoning. One thing that was very different from the lakes and streams she was accustomed to, aside from the salt, was that she couldn't seem to see where the water ended. That was definitely alarming.

"It is pre-" she had started to say as she turned back to Armor, but she stopped when she noticed he was looking at her when he said it and not the water. She looked down and gave a quiet, nervous laugh before raising her head to meet his again. Normally, she would have some sort of witty retort ready, but she found herself briefly without words. That was weird; Speedy always had something to say. Finally, she smiled and continued. "It is pretty, but you're right, it seems dangerous. Lucky for me, I don't like to swim, so I should be fine." She sat down in front of him then, and looked back towards the water, feeling a little ruffled under his gaze.

"Good for you." Armor nodded, finally finding the courage to and the trust to stand, the brute started to make his way back home. Completely ignoring the lady he had just met. He wasn't sure if she would call out to him or not but it didn't really change his mind. He had been on the beach all afternoon, he should probably return at some point. Not that anyone needed him. His limp was obvious, and it would be easy for anyone to catch up to his slow gaunt.

Speedy bristled at his dismissal. To be honest, it was a little confusing. One minute, he was implying he thought she was pretty, and now he just got up and walked away from her like she was insignificant. Hell no was she letting him get away with that.

Immediately, she stood and trotted after his limping form. She had noticed his leg, but currently, she was too affronted to listen to her healer's heart and the concern it had for him. When she was beside him again, she cleared her throat in obvious irritation. That was rude, Speedy said, her words terse and a scowl on her face.
