Now that Finley had finally ventured away from her den and her role as protective, overbearing mama bear, it was becoming less and less gut-wrenchingly painful to do. A little. Mostly. Okay, for about an hour it was easy, even a bit of a relief, to get out and away from the little booby-sucker. After that first hour though, her resolve began to crumble and like an alcoholic banging on the door of the liquor store in the ten minutes before it opened, she was dragging herself back home for some Eljay snuggles.
Fortunately, this thread takes place in that first hour (or so Stevie has decided). The Blackthorn had never been enormously fond of the rain, but considering the fact that she had experienced very little besides dark, warm, dry den atmosphere for the past few weeks, she found herself actually reveling in the feel of the water slipping against her skin. On a whim, she decided to aim her trajectory towards the borders of the packlands where it took her about five minutes to discover that her alpha had just passed by within the last quarter hour. Eagerly, Fin spun in her tracks and cantered off to seek him out.
Fin wasted no time trotting up alongside of him once she spotted the dark wolf. Lowering her head with a mischievous grin, she slunk up to him like a creeping... creep. She was being a creep. "Like a wraith in the night, he slunk about, patrolling his borders with an iron claw," Finley whispered dramatically as she came to Peregrine's side, "When suddenly he paused, raising his regal head as motivation struck him - a feral need to claim what was his, to protect his kingdom from the vagabonds that threatened to infiltrate his keep! And with a regal raise of his powerful, sinuous leg, he..."
Fin paused quite suddenly then, dropping her animated antics to give her friend a curious look. "You wanna know what happens next or is it too much for your heart to take?" she asked, her tail wagging as she canted her head to one side.
