Horizon Ridge Take me by the hand

The ensuing awkwardness soon dissipated back into friendly banter when Saena agreed to tell Reek a real secret after promising to not joke as she had before. However, once she got down to her little confession, it was obvious that her promise had been a subversion.  The ol' switcharoo. Reek snorted with an incredulous chuckle and shot his lover a mystified grin. While her pregnancy bombshell had been implausible, this sixth sense sort of thing had to be impossible. Nevertheless, his lover's tone carried the weight of sincerity, suggesting that this time it wasn't a lie— or at least she believed it to be true.

"Come on Saena," prodded the sceptic playfully. "I got all personal and stuff for you... the least you could do is give be one secret."  But, perhaps she wasn't lying.  All of her body language pointed to— no, screamed truth.  Reek was torn between two options; his strictly rational viewpoint of the natural world, or trust in his lover.  After a ponderous moment, trust won out.  Why would she lie?  Besides, she promised.

"Seriously though— are you for-realsies?"  he asked.  "Like, are you sure whatever you see is, um, dead stuff... or just really vivid hallucinations?"  Reek fell silent for a moment before leaning in close to ask, "Have you— have you seen Junior?"
