Emberwood to what end

The dark animal gave its own growl, which made Micco deepen his own - but then she retreated. Her body low and quick, the puma reacted to the movement with his eyes first and then, when there was a comfortable space for him to move, he gave a brief chase - leaping out of the dark after the wolf and swiping at the air, his fangs bared and shining in the night. When the wolf was gone, Micco gave a cursory glance around himself and slunk away in the opposite direction.
