naively vuk believed it was over, that taggarik had protected her from the lust of the nameless leader and that she was free to flee, to run to the comfort of her den and remain there until the horrible confusion had dissipated from her body. her tail thumped once in the snow, weakly, as the alpha male approached her swiftly, but a nip to her flank provoked a yelp.

he was punishing her! the patterned girl cowered, fear flooding her veins, but the sable male was relentless -- eventually vuk stumbled to her feet and was immediately covered by taggarik. a great sense of wrong welled in her body as his forelegs encircled her waist but her weak intention to draw away from him was heavily outweighed by the primal notion that she must heed him, coupled with the lust that had begun all of this.

bracing her thin forelegs to support him, the white plume swept aside and she was still, silent, buffeted by his short movements. but the horror of the day stung her eyes with saltwater; for one brief and ashamed moment vuk lifted her stunned gaze to capriccio before fixing it firmly upon the snow between her paws.
