Golden Glade Home on the Remains

for once the newly-named vailë does not head for the cedar sweep for his usual brood. he is a little bored of it and its stale offerings but he still hesitates to go much farther, and so decides to move west behind the summit into the fiery glade. it's still nowhere near as good as king elk forest, don't get him wrong, but it's a little gloomier and doomier and, well, he kind of likes that.

not that he has much to be gloomy and doomy about, besides the usual. weirdly he misses uka of all people - at least it'd be easy to get into it with the jerk, work off some of this nervous energy about mato. really he should be celebrating what with finally having earned the title vailë (though his work isn't done, not yet). yeah, that's what this is. a celebratory brood. 

he wonders how much farther arthendal's old territory is from here. not that he could justify his little historical trip just now, with their numbers so thinned.

night is starting to fall around him and delight wonders if he should head back home when he smells another nearby. curiously he pads forward after the scent, finding the black-furred stranger and the - was that a raven? "isn't that kinda bad luck?" delight says, in lieu a hello, though his voice is devoid of its usual snide flair.
