"m'lady, i could not take something that you fairly caught! we were hunting a doe, but lost her tracks a ways back. this one --" he jerked his muzzle back towards ithrik before continuing -- "is not the most discreet hunter." his tail swayed around his hocks as he continued.

it was then he would make his move, for he feared if they interacted any longer the two would become wise to the malevolence that clouded the two 'brothers' -- he made to pick up the hare as if he had changed his mind, but at the last minute lunged for the mother with his fangs bared and paws outstretched.
