Rannoch was suddenly ashamed of everything that had transpired; a brief look of horror shone in his eyes as he realized what he had almost enabled.
"...It's not," he decided with evident regret; Rannoch was disappointed in himself, and it showed. Although the situation was different than the one that had driven them to leave, Rannoch could see where Liffey was coming from. "We are not Moonspear, and we never will be." His eyes found Terance, and he frowned, "I do not blame you for the choice you made, either, Terance. I know you were doing what you thought was best for the pack. Let's meet later and talk about strategies we will implement in the future." He hoped that his Beta would understand.
As Liffey spoke to Redshank directly, Rannoch turned his attention to the wolves that held onto the intruder. "Thank you all for your help; you can let him go. Treason— I want you to make sure he gets as far away from here as possible. Do not attack unless he attacks you. I'm sure he's learned his lesson." He stepped towards the group, and he looked down to the wolf that he had once considered to be like a son. "I'm really disappointed in you, Redshank. Do not make this mistake again." Although Rannoch was stern, his distress was evident in his expression.
Rannoch tentatively moved closer to Titmouse, and his ears flattened. "I do not blame you for defending Redshank, either, Titmouse. I know how much he means to you. This mistake will not be held against you." He so desperately wanted to embrace the Omega but, he resisted. "Because I made a mistake, too." Rannoch took a step back, and looked to the gathered wolves, "And we will all learn from this."
He looked at Liffey and frowned. "I will never put the pack in this position again. This is the last time that we will act like them."

a crime so old as the sky and bone
he came untied, solid as a stone
all is almost lost and it starts to show
he came untied, solid as a stone
all is almost lost and it starts to show
