Ford had welcomed him among the ranks of Stormrift, seemingly having saw something in him that was worth taking a chance on. Despite the invitation and his acceptance, Viinturuth was reluctant to look upon the coast as his own. The bay was different from what he was used to. It did not have the cover of his previous territory, nor the freshness of Swiftcurrent Creek. If anything, the sea and Stavanger's share of beach made him feel so... vulnerable. Exposed. Perhaps even afraid.
He spent most of his time away from the shore, to the Southern and Easten outskirts of the two-toned Alpha's claim, and had not yet found the courage to seek out and forge bonds with new pack-mates. The reminder of his last failure to settle hung over him, bringing a reluctance to integrate should his parents find him once more and drive him further away.
Viinturuth ventured into the place he'd first met his new leader, finding some comfort among its broken trees and new growth. It was a land filled with sorrow, yet promise. He moved quietly through the hollowed sequoias, pausing only when his dark gaze fell upon a tawny figure that trailed through the mist just ahead. At once, he feared the slim frame might be that of his mother or brother, but this one did not carry their familiar crimson hues.
He exhaled softly and allowed himself to relax, assuming his pace in the stranger's direction with a curious sweep of his alabaster tail.
