He had not intended to find such a magnificent view today. The creature out in the water was nothing like he had ever spotted before. It was not like the seals that dotted the coast sometimes or the normal fish that swam in the waters near Wheeling Gull Isle. There was an undeniable sleekness to it and even when it crashed through the surface it seemed to hold onto grace. He was undeniably charmed by the creature.
Eager for a closer look, he waded into the waters some. He knew there was a danger in entering the waters with that strange creature. There was no knowing what it was capable of or what its intentions were. So he only went deep enough for the water to reach the middle of his short legs.
He waited patiently, wondering if the aquatic creature would reveal itself again.
And it never did.
