His paws are filthy, and he can't stand it. The feeling of dirt between his toes is enough to drive him crazy, though he does his best to ignore it as he searches for his siblings. It'd been necessary anyway — or at least, he thinks so. A torn, pathetic-looking plant hangs from his jaws, roots and all; battered as it is, even the brilliant orange flowers are drooping. He's seen his mother with this plant before, and though he isn't quite sure what she does with it, he's determined to find out. So when he (presumably) spots his sibling(s), he marches right up to them, spits the plant out, and says: Look. Like mom. Except not really like mom, because her plants look far less sad and beaten, but he hopes no one will notice.
