Sugar didn't ask any further questions, leaving Finley on her own to guess what was going through her little head. She thought of what it would be like when one day her latest litter decided to head out. Crow was gone already. She was positive Penn would be the next--that boy was too unruly and ambitious to live in the shadows of his family here. Avery and Sugar were harder to picture ever leaving, though Fin knew by now not to expect any of her children to stick around. She had Eljay. With any luck, he would manage to produce a few more grandchildren for her and Elwood to dote on the next couple of years until they too departed, though theirs would be a more permanent one.

"Ta-ta for now," Fin answered with a smile and a wag of her tail, "You go have fun. I think I'll go on a dad-hunt." She suspected Elwood was somewhere around the borders, though she wasn't entirely convinced she actually would go seek him out. Perhaps she would do more wandering around and fretting. Maybe she would go take a nap. In any event, she didn't want to intrude upon Sugar's time with her friend.
